6 Bible Verses All Single People Need To Hear

Being single is often a feared stage of life. It is a time where discouragement seems to be around every corner, end everyone’s luck is better than yours. You force yourself out of your comfort zone only to find yourself retreating right back to it. “It’s official, I’m going to be single forever,” is a constant thought that rolls through your head. After awhile, you can’t help to be discouraged and you give into the lies and mistakes this world has created when it comes to dating, but instead, find strength and encouragement in the truth that The Lord has given us.

Song of Solomon 3:5

“Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.”

It can be hard to not seek out your next relationship. As humans, we manipulate situations to receive the outcomes we desire. Instead, have faith in The Lord’s plan for you. He doesn’t need your help to bring someone into your life.

1 Samuel 16:7

“But the Lord said to Samuel do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance but The Lord looks at the heart.”

It is so easy to get wrapped up in the appearance of others, but appearance is only the surface layer of who a person is. Look past their looks and see how attractive their heart is. It is OK to be picky when it is picking someone who has a heart that will push you in your faith, lift you up and not tear you down.

Matthew 6:33

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

First and foremost, seek The Lord and pursue your faith. Your strength, your truth, and your path comes from His truth, and without it you will be caught in a vicious cycle of bad relationships. When you run to God, he will bring you the desires of your heart and keep your paths straight.

Psalm 139:14

“I praise you because I am freely and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

You were made by the hand of the God of the universe. He knows every hair on your head and he hand picked every aspect of you. Don’t give into the lies of the world that tell you that you are less than your worth. Don’t fall into a relationship where the other person doesn’t celebrate all that you are worth. You were created for something so much better than that.

Proverbs 4:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

It is so easy to throw your heart into things without taking a step back and seeing if it will end up with you hurt. Be selective and only give your heart to those who will protect it. Your heart is precious and sacred, don’t give it away freely and don’t give it to someone who will return it in pieces.

1 Peter 3:3-4

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentile and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Don’t change who you are or how you look to fit the mold that the world has created. You are so much more than what this world says. Don’t change for someone. If they don’t like you exactly how you are, they will never like who you try to be. You were created by God exactly how you are for a reason. Don’t ever change the way that the Lord created you because he created you through his perfectness.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
