When you think of the word health what do you think of?

Majority of people have a different definitions of healthy. For some it might be eating fruit and exercising and for others it might just simply be having a good mindset and feeling good about oneself. These are all things that can benefit ones personal health. Its important to analyze what being healthy means to you and how you can achieve a healthy lifestyle to make yourself feel good.

For me, living a healthy lifestyle is eating good foods, exercising daily, and participating in things that make me feel good about myself.

We've all heard the saying "What you put in your body is what you get out of it", which is one hundred percent true. Eating good foods can have myriad amount of benefits in your life. More people should consider what they are putting into their bodies, especially college kids, considering we DO live off ramen, easy-mac, and cafeteria food. Eating healthy definitely does regulate your weight (so no freshman 15 for me!) and studies also show that students who eat healthier are proven to be more productive, and radiate more positive energy rather than peers who constantly put junk food into their body.

Its not always easy to find time for exercise in our hectic lives. Sometimes it can even be hard to balance school and a social life. Taking thirty minutes to an hour out of your day each day could really help the way you feel. Taking an hour out of your day to exercise is only four percent of your day! Going for a walk, running on a treadmill/track, or even just doing some sit ups in your room, are all exercises that can clear your mind for the short amount of time you do them. For some, exercising relieves their stress and gets rid of the one hundred responsibilities they are thinking about at the moment. Exercising has just as many mental benefits as it does physical benefits. The long term and short term outcomes of being fit are endless. Being active only has positive effects on the mind and body.

Doing things to make you feel good are important to being healthy. Being healthy isn't just eating good. There are many things that make up a healthy lifestyle. One of the main ways to live a healthy lifestyle is to radidate positive energy. Being happy affects your body and mind just as much as the food you put into your body, or the physical activity you perform. Eating good, exercising, and doing things you enjoy are all healthy habits, they each have positive effects on your mind and body to make you happy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
