The television show “Naked and Afraid” is a huge hit nowadays. A man and a woman are put to the test out in the wilderness for 21 days. They have to find a way to get their own food, water and shelter for those days and the camera crew only cuts in if there is an emergency.

It is very entertaining to watch and although some people may be able to handle that kind of adventure, I am definitely not the girl you would want to get matched with in that kind of situation. Here is a list of the reasons why:

  1. I hate bugs.
  2. I would miss my warm bed.
  3. YOU CANNOT WEAR CLOTHES.
  4. I like eating real meals too much.
  5. The fact that snakes could touch you freaks me out.
  6. I would really miss mashed potatoes.
  7. I would miss Netflix too much.
  8. The noises out in the forest would give me nightmares.
  9. There is no shower.
  10. You can’t just relax and hang out.
  11. It is not just a matter of exploring, it’s your “new” life.
  12. You have no privacy.
  13. There is no way to listen to music.
  14. I would not be updated on the shows I currently watch.
  15. I would miss my family and friends too much.
  16. There is no Chipotle out in the forest.
  17. I love warm blankets too much.
  18. I would miss eating chocolate.
  19. You do not have access to any paint or crafting materials.
  20. There is no real bathroom.
  21. No real toilet paper.
  22. I hate getting cuts on my feet and that would happen a lot.
  23. Did I mention that there is no music?
  24. I would miss my car.
  25. I am definitely not in good enough shape for that.
  26. Pitch black caves creep me out.
  27. I like bubble baths too much.
  28. I would miss my dog.
  29. You get really really dirty.
  30. I like being clean too much.
  31. I would miss getting lunch with my friends.
  32. I would miss breakfast.
  33. I do not want to eat snakes or bugs.
  34. I am not a fan of flying bugs that can sting you.
  35. I couldn’t handle the dehydration.
  36. The smell of my own skin would gross me out.
  37. I like eating chicken and french fries too much.
  38. I would miss eating chicken salad.
  39. I would not be a good partner because I would have no idea how to survive.
  40. I don’t think I would be able to get the fire starter to work.
  41. The noises of animals around you at night would scare me.
  42. I am not a fan of being in the pitch black outdoors.
  43. You can’t order Chinese food.
  44. The 1975 isn’t available in the forest.
  45. I hate saying this but I probably would hate not having a phone for three weeks.
  46. I would have no access to the outside world.
  47. I would be too weak to survive the 21 days anyways.
  48. My partner would start to hate me.
  49. I would be too cranky.
  50. The food options just are not appealing to me in any way.

Although there are a few pros to participating in the show “Naked and Afraid,” I don’t think I would last more than three days. I rely too much on good food and good company to be able to last in that situation. Bugs freak me out when I see them in the house and I love my bed so much. But honestly, the biggest reason why I could not be on the show (other than the fact that they would not let me on anyway) is the fact that there is no bathroom with a toilet and shower. I would then realize how much we take those things for granted. But if you think that you could last on that super cool show then props to you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
