After almost a full year of starting my day at 8:00 am, I think it is safe to say that I have finally become a morning person (or at least most of the time). I have picked up on a couple of tips over the past year to help me be productive every day, regardless of starting my day in the early morning or in the late afternoon. I am currently trying to create a routine with this, and hopefully these tips can help you out as well!

  1. Make your bed
The first thing you should do when you (finally) get out of bed is to make it. I believe that tidying up your bed brings in a sense of cleanliness and organization and that is what you want to start your morning/day with. It is all about starting your morning right so this tip is very important. And wouldn’t it be great to be able to flop down on a perfectly made bed after a tiring yet wonderful day doing whatever you’re doing?🙂
  2. Get ready
I know, I know. It is your lazy day and you see no point in getting ready if you do not plan on going anywhere. But even then, it doesn’t hurt to brush your hair and change out of your PJs into some comfy home clothes! You will find yourself feeling more ready to start your day when you get out of clothes that you usually end the day with.
  3. Make a list of 5 goals to complete that day
Write out five important tasks you want to complete that day and check it off once you have completed it. Laundry? Check. Homework? Check. Writing your newest blog post? Check. There will be a great amount of satisfaction with each task you check off. Before you know it, you will finish that checklist so great job! You have successfully had a productive day.
  4. Exercise for at least 20 minutes every day
It is not healthy to be a couch potato all day everyday so be sure to squeeze in some time for exercise! There are tons of easy exercises to do at home or you can put on those running shoes and run some laps around your neighborhood park.
I’m going to be honest here and say that this is definitely something I need to work more on. But whenever I decide to not be lazy, here is a little workout routine that I usually do: stretch, maybe do a few laps around the park or jumping jacks to get my heart rate up, 2-3 Blogilates workout videos on YouTube (depends what I feel like working out that day), then some cool down stretches.
  5. Put your phone down for at least 30 minutes
Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, Yik Yak… there will constantly be something to do on your phone but it will always be there. Give your eyes some rest and put down your phone! Read a book, bake macarons, cook a new recipe, do something that will not only take your eyes off a screen, but maybe you will discover a passion in something you never knew you had.
Currently, I set a goal for myself to read 5 new books this year, and to try out every recipe in my new “Cravings” cookbook by Chrissy Teigen.

I wish you all the best in trying out these tips and I hope you will have more successful days!

Have you been productive today?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
