We all know that a new school year can bring on some very unwanted stress. However, once again it is that time of year when you realize that you won't be able to take those post-swim naps or those five-hour Netflix binges. Of course, you also have to worry about all your new classes and heaven forbid, having to make new friends! So just try to relax and maybe you will find some relief in these activities!
1. Yoga
No, yoga isn't something just for moms who go out to brunch and talk a little too much about their kids. The calming atmosphere, poses and deep, relaxing stretches can really help smooth out that knot you always seem to have right there in your back. You know, that one that keeps growing every time you slouch over to read a textbook on your cold, hard desk? Give it a try in a class, or even right in your home! (Just try to be a little careful and don't hurt yourself)
2. Color

3. Go for a hike
Take a breath of fresh, forest air and explore your new aesthetic. The beauty of nature is always a spectacular way to get your mind off of the business of the loud society around you! Just take a few moments to stop and look at the intricate designs on a leaf or a flower. Look up at the sky and imagine the clouds into your own world of shapes, feel the cool leaves brush up against you (or smack you in the face from overhanging branches!) Even bring along a furry, panting friend!
4. Take a bath
Go grab a colorful, fizzy bath bomb and your favorite scented candle! Or even grab that one book you've been wanting to read but just haven't had time (Just try not to drop it into the water) Fill up that tub with some steamy hot water and try not to burn yourself when you get in and realize that maybe that was a little too much hot water!
5. Just breathe
Well obviously you know how to breathe, but sometimes we forget to actually take the time to stop what we are doing and take a full, relieving breath of fresh air. Straighten up your back, relax your shoulders and pull all the air you can into the deepest part of your lungs. Take your time and don't forget to breathe out!
