A daily routine can be so dull. Having observed attitudes and behaviors this week alone, I have concluded that with the same thing happening everyday, life gets boring. When we are bored our performance hinders in the classroom, at work, on the field, and in relationships. We allow it to increase our likelihood of making more mistakes. These five ways to bring some excitement into your life can be applied to family, an individual, a couple, or a friend. Only one rule to abide by- keep an open mind, see the beauty in the moment, and consider yourself challenged to try at least one of these.
1. Go somewhere where no one knows your name
By going somewhere alone where no one knows your name you are stepping out of your comfort zone. All of a sudden it becomes you vs the world. In this situation you observe your surroundings more than you typically would if you were accompanied by someone. With an open mind, you will see beauty that you never saw before and realize that everyone has a story possible that it is more exciting than yours so go out there and meet new people. Take in their life experiences, what they have to say and love.
2. Take matters into your own hands
Sometimes we follow the norm or do what we are told to do. We do it exactly the way we are told. Regardless, make what you do in your own genuine and unique way. You are bound to impress someone with your originality but most importantly, you will impress yourself. It is exciting to accomplish something your way and have it done right.
3. Do not expect anything...EVER
"Expect the unexpected" is a common phrase but most of the time, overlooked. Good events will take place when you least expect them. Initially, you did not expect anything at all in the first place so when an event does occur you are more likely to approach it in a calm and positive way. You did not think of it earlier meaning there is no opportunity to overthink. Do not expect anything at all for the day except a positive attitude from yourself and that will gravitate positive energy your way.
4. Make some space in your Life
Declutter! Sometimes our lives are not as exciting or spontaneous because there are so many unnecessary things that we occupy our time with. Instead of doing chores such as laundry and house cleaning every other day, keep that work for one day of the week. Voila, you have more time in the week to do the first three bullet points!
5. Push fear away and stay confident
Finally, be sure to put fear in a little bag and throw it away. Fear is a natural human emotion and it would be impossible to say you could never fear again. What I mean to say in this case is, be sure to use fear when you truly need it. In most cases we fear making mistakes. Unfortunately, it will happen so might as well try that new food, exercise, or try talking to that guy or girl you like all with confidence. If it does not go in the best direction then you stick with your confidence and you move on with the learning experience. That is what makes life exciting- how much we can learn before time is up.
