Siblings are like the best friends and the worst enemies you will ever have... neither of which you get to choose. They're most likely to be your partners in crime while simultaneously being the person most likely to rat you out if you screw up. (For example, flying a drone into the pool. Which is hypothetical and never actually happened...) They're always there to support you but will never hesitate to humble you if you get too big of an ego. They're there for you for better or worse. No matter how frustrating they may be, they are irreplaceable.
Brothers are a special kind of antagonistic sibling. I mean, I have to give my brother some credit. He is not only the brother to two sisters, but the dreaded, mistreated, often ignored middle child. (Or at least as he claims.) He can cause some of the worse trouble, but somehow manage to blame in on someone else - like tripping down the stairs that has *miraculously* 15 years later been deemed a push. (Which I still heartily deny!) Or handing me the remote for the drone and watching me fly it into the pool... which is still a hypothetical scenario that didn't happen! Regardless, a brother is one of the best gifts a parent can ever give their daughter.
I think a brother-sister friendship is truly special. We can agree to disagree on many things, but still bond over superheroes, basketball, and summer vacations. I admittedly couldn't care less about your video games, and I don't think you have given much thought to my obscene amount of shoes; however, that doesn't make us any less close as friends and siblings. Here are 5 TV brothers and sisters that have nothing on our friendship.
1. Nancy and Mike Wheeler
I would never claim that Nancy and Mike get along. At all. But over the course of two seasons (and several life-threatening events) they learn to put aside their differences, work together, and save their friends and Hawkins, Indiana.
2. Ross and Monica Geller
"Friends"
Sometimes it definitely feels like our lives are an episode from FRIENDS. (For example, "The One with the Drone" - still didn't happen.) These two are the ICONIC TV siblings. They were brother and sister as well as best friends, and I hope when we're *real* adults we have a friendship like theirs.
3. Sansa Stark and Jon Snow
"Game of Thrones"
Since we have now both finally seen GOT, I can put this on the list. I'm not quite sure how successful you would be as King of the North, but then again I'm not sure I would succeed as Lady of Winterfell. Either way, Jon and Sansa sometimes disagree on how to lead, but they almost always manage to put aside their differences and get the job done.
4. Fiona and Lip Gallagher
"Shameless"
Like Jon and Sansa, Fiona and Lip have to take charge of the Gallagher family and make sure everything is taken care of. They might not agree on how to do this and balance their own crazy lives, but they always do their best for each other and their other siblings. We definitely aren't at the Gallagher level of crazy, but we can work out pretty much anything by working together.
5. Oliver and Thea Queen
It would't be a CW drama without some questions of parentage, but no matter what life threw at them Thea and Oliver remained close and never doubted each other as siblings. They lived through the death of both their parents. Oliver was lost on an island for 5 years. Thea had her own set of struggles as she tried to manage a life without a brother and a father in it. And yet they both grew closer as friends, and eventually teamed up to save Star City as the Green Arrow and Speedy. If you ever have to save the world, I hope you'd call me to help!
Well, there you go Jak: you wanted an article so you got one. Happy birthday!
