Growing up in a small town means that everyone can connect to the same things. Here are my top 5 most relatable things about Somers, Connecticut.
1. Every time you have somewhere important to be, you end up stuck behind a NETTTS truck.
For whatever reason, the NETTTS school decided to locate itself in town. Running late to school or work? You'll be stuck behind a student driver. Have important dinner plans? Surprise, there's a truck in front of you.
2. Walking into Geissler's is like walking into your high school reunion.
Just about every time I'm home from school, I end up at Geissler's. And each and every time, I see someone that I went to high school with. They might as well have employed all the students.
3. If you want to get food, but you don't want to go to Enfield, you're probably getting pizza.
Most of the places that you could eat at in town end up being pizza places. Your options are pretty limited if you aren't willing to take a drive to another town.
4. Seeing football players in college is mind boggling.
What even is football??? We know lacrosse. We know baseball. We even know golf. But unless you decided to play for another town, chances are you never got the high school football experience.
5. If you're out somewhere else, you know someone is from town when you see this on their car.
