Being back at UMass after four months is definitely something to get used to. There are so many things that I clearly forgot about life at college that I feel like I’m a freshman all over again. Here are the things that I forgot about that caught me off guard during this first week back.
How Many People There Are!
The Lines
Think you'll be able to eat lunch and make it to your class in 30 minutes? Never. Make sure you account some time for the long lines at the dining hall (and everywhere else).
The Walking
After not doing much all summer, it's hard to get back in the swing of walking a casual five miles per day. Once again, make sure you account time for all the walking, so that you're not late to your classes!
How Good The Food Is
Towards the end of last semester, all I wanted was to go back home and eat a home cooked meal. Not because the food was bad, but because I got bored. Now that I'm back after four months though, it's good to know that I can count on some good food!
How Beautiful The Campus Is
Everything aside, the campus itself is gorgeous. Walking by the pond and seeing the ducks almost makes up for the fact that I'm on my way to an 8 a.m. class.
