2.) Almost half of all foster children are placed in not relative foster homes.

3.) Foster teens and young adults are more likely to suffer from serious mental illnesses.

They are more likely to be hospitalized for attempting suicide or for other serious mental disorders.

4.) Many Children get placed in up to 8 different homes per year.

Foster Parents have the right to ask the case worker for the child to be removed from the house at anytime for any reason and the case worker must obey their wishes. Children live in constant fear everyday of "messing up" or making their foster parents not want them. They will silently take any abuse just so they won't be placed into another house or group home.

14 states have some level of Privatization and several others are considering this. Cases of abuse scatter through the files of Californias privatized foster care system. Children that are beat, whipped and tramatized. The privatization is supposed to serve children better and also way less expensive. Children living in homes controlled by private agencies were about one third more likely to be victims of very serious physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. The money that goes into a private foster care agency is about 4 million per year. Unfortunely this introduced people to spend as little as possible and pack these homes with as many kids as possible. In California alone they granted waviers to at least 5,300 people convicted of crimes. In some of these cases, people with these waviers severaly abused and even killed these children.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
