Being a tall person, we get that we are tall. I promise, we do not forget it either, so reminding us by telling us that we are so tall doesn't really make it any better. All the compliments we get about our height usually come from people that are taller than us or your parents (which we all know those don't really count). The ABSOLUTE worst compliment is when an older man comments on your legs and then proceeds to tell you his wife's used to look like that and he loved them. I understand being super short is really hard too, but at least you can buy kids clothes ... what do we have? Shopping at the Big & Tall for men. Yeah, no.
1. "Your legs are really long. How tall are you? You've gotten taller."
These questions always come in three's and in this order and the response is always the same. 1) Yeah I know my legs are long. 2) After telling them your height and they tell you are wrong, is just the best because they totally know that you are at least 6'3", disregarding your actual height completely. But, I mean hey if you want me that tall then sure, really, let's talk about anything else. 3) No, I actually haven't grown since freshman year of high school, or since you asked me that two days ago when you stood next to me.
2. Taking a picture with people could make you look like a giant.
Like I know I am tall, but this is just excessive ... I look like a giant.
3. Always will have a nick name that is not flattering
Tall person, giant, giraffe, legs, or stretch are just some of the many names I have encountered while being unable to help my height. While many of my friends nicknames are just shorter versions of their names, nope not in my case.
4. Your full head might not make it in pictures.
Great chance the top of your head will be cut off, but don't worry, that extra five feet of the bottom of the picture will be in it no doubt. I guess I really never need to worry if my hair looks greasy at the top.
5. Guys will be shorter than you, and it will be awkward.
Some things like hugging or kissing your friends cheeks might just be awkward. Either you are bending down to them, or their head is in an uncomfortable place for everyone.
There is always one blessing in being "super" tall, it isn't when people notice you aren't a freak of nature, but when you find your "twin tower." Once you find that other person that is your height, you instantly become best friends, because you know between your jean length, (which you know she has those extra longs from American Eagle) and your shoe size, she is the only one in your friend group that you have the ability to share clothes with. That girl with be your lifeline. Plus the pictures make you both look normal.
