The Holidays are a time where you get to spend long festive nights with your family while admiring the joyful spectacle of Christmas. As a college student, who has spent the last few weeks buried in the unruly depths of the library’s basement absorbing as much math formulas as possible, anytime I can come home and spend time with my family are moments that I cherish. This Thanksgiving I came home wearied and exhausted from a week of essays on top of exams, but I wanted my time at home, being in the early stages of the Holiday season, to be an unforgettable one. My sister and I set out on the last night before I returned to college to have an artsy Christmas adventure. It was only ourselves and the unexplored night in front of us! If you want to spice up your Holiday ventures with spontaneity then read on!
These are the things we did that moonlit and also sleepless night!
1) Make s’mores and eat them!
There is nothing better than getting to eat melting Hershey bars with warm and gewy marshmallows topped with a crunchy graham cracker, while spending time with your sister or whoever who are partaking this adventure with. Take fun photos of you eating them, trying not to act too in love with the delicious and heavenly treat (something I had a hard time trying to do).
2) Drive around in style.
All you need is a luxurious coat, a pair of shades, and in this Texas weather you can easily get away with shorts! Drive around the neighborhood looking at the Christmas lights while singing to your favorite Holiday tunes.
3) Buy hot chocolate with whip cream and chocolate drizzle wearing an elf hat.
You are bound to get thirsty after driving around looking at all the lights, so make a stop at your local Starbucks or coffee shop and buy some warm and savory hot chocolate. But to make this memorable, buy the hot chocolate wearing an elf hat! You're showing your Christmas spirit while having a fun time!
Then take photos in the parking lot dancing around like you’re one of Santa’s elves
4) Take pictures of you shrouded in an array of Christmas lights.
Find a place where the Christmas lights are just too magical to where you have to stop and take photos of them! You can be really creative in how you take these photos! Try taking blurry pictures of the lights or maybe a cool reflection of them in someone's eyes or from a window. There are endless possibilities of what you can do!!
5) Eat buttery popcorn while watching a Christmas movie.
To end the night, watch a classic Christmas movie as you stuff your mouth with salted and buttery popcorn. What's a better way to close the night than this!
So that's it, our all in one night Christmas adventure! I hope you now have more ideas and that maybe these have sparked some of your own creative thoughts in to how you can make this the best Christmas yet!
Enjoy your holidays and spend it with the people you love!
XOXO
