We all have our favorite social media outlets, but that doesn't stop us from wishing they were better. With every app there is always a commonly held idea that could improve it. Sometimes, our wishes come true.
Here are 5 social media updates that the world needed:
1. Instagram: Videos
When Instagram first began there was no option to post a video. Then out of nowhere the 15 second video feature was released. People enjoyed it, but thought it should be longer. Now there is the 60 second video option. This completely changed Instagram from just looking at pictures to a mini YouTube. Its a source for quick DIY tutorials and longer comedy videos.
2. Snapchat: Memories
Remember how we all wished we could save every Snap without having to lose our phone memory? We also wished to post snaps after the event has happened and this update has made that wish come to life. No more having to download third party apps to upload pictures later and risking your account being deleted. This is probably the most awaited update.
3. Facebook: Reactions
For the longest time people wanted a dislike button or felt weird liking a post about a tragedy, but now Facebook has provided a wide range of emotions to show how you really feel.
4. Tumblr: Instant Messaging
Those days of trying to talk to someone on Tumblr through the ask are over. Having to squeeze everything in the character limit got annoying sometimes.
5. Twitter: Character limit
Although this has not happened yet, it is said that the character limit will be less limiting. Tweets will still have a 140 character limit, but it will not include @names, photos or Gifs. This will allow users to use their limit completely. This may not be the highly desired 240 character limit, but it is certainly a step in the right direction.
