No sugar, banish the turn-up alcohol, stay away from all fast food joints and say goodbye to processed foods. We’ve all read the many articles that tell have these obvious tips. Good news: there’s an easier way to start without giving up all of your favorite things cold turkey. It’s a starting point!
1. WASH YOUR FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
We’ve all been informed of the urgency behind washing our fruits and veggies before eating them and putting them in our meals, but is it bad if we choose not to? According to Take Part:
“The answer is yes. Yes it's bad, because (1) hello, food-borne illnesses, and (2) according to some research, more than 80 percent of all produce has surface pesticide residue. A 2012 study found that pesticides and other chemicals used in growing fruit and vegetables could be putting kids at risk of developing cancer.
Wash, wash, wash before you eat!
2. REPLACE YOUR RANCE WITH EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
My favorite salad of all time dressing is Ranch, but it contains so many unhealthy ingredients and has PLENTY of unhealthy fats to go with it. Salads are the best way to get some healthy fats into your daily diet. Since my eating habits have changed, I've been a lot more mindful about what I put into my body. Replace your dressings with Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead. Add some garlic, salt and pepper, with some lemon juice...you can thank me later.
3. MAKE NUTRITION CRUCIAL IN THE MORNING
Starting the day off right by eating a healthy breakfast is very important. Ideally, you’re supposed to be eating 15 to 20 minutes after waking up and it’s best to have a slow-digesting breakfast. If you skip breakfast or wait until late lunch to eat (like I often do… I know, I know. Don’t judge me.) your blood sugar levels are likely to spike when you finally do eat. I know it’s hard for some people to eat a full breakfast in the morning, try a green smoothie or oatmeal! Clean and keeps you full until that lunch period.
4. USE COCONUT EVERYTHING (Sugar, flour, oil, etc.)
Coconut products have a good source of fibers and proteins. Coconut oil is one of the few foods that can be classified as a “superfood.” Its unique combination of fatty acids can have profound positive effects on health. This includes fat loss, better brain function and other awesome benefits. Replace everything in your house with coconut and i promise you won’t be disappointed.
5. LEMONS, LEMONS, LEMONS
Adding lemon to your water has tons of clean and healthy benefits. You will feel much better about drinking water with a little bit of a refreshing lemon taste as you swallow. It also boosts hydration and prevents bad breath. Lemon is also great for liver health!
Use these helpful tips and start incorporating them into your daily diet and see the benefits sooner than later.
