Being the person that is infatuated with shoes, I would like to give you the five shoes every guy should have. Footwear has become the cornerstone of style. I remember growing up not even caring about what I had on my feet. My outfit would look ridiculous and my sneakers would never compliment the look. I wasn't caring about sneakers because I was focused on schoolwork, but then I saw the "Bred" Jordan 11. The "Bred" Jordan 11 was the first sneaker I bought with my own money off of my friend for 40 dollars. Those 40 bucks started a life I can never turn back from. If we were to look at my outfits now, none of my outfits would work without the compliment of the sneakers that I wear with them. For people that are trying to find their ideal styles of footwear, this list will give you a very rudimentary idea of what styles to look for:
1) The Running Shoe (I Recommend: Asics Gel-Lyte III)
If you're going to buy a sneaker, You're going to want the sneaker to be comfortable. You also want to be able to keep the sneaker on for a long period of time. That is the trust of comfortability. The go-to sneakers in the business are running sneakers. They were built specifically to withstand durable terrain as well as give the foot enough support from below the ankle for you to be on the move. I recommend the Asics Gel-Lyte III. This shoe may be sold at big retailers and exclusive boutiques. This shoe comes with its signature split tongue to allow a more comfortable feel.
2) The Basketball Shoe (I Recommend: Jordan 1)
Every male needs a basketball shoe, even if you do not play basketball. You never want to get caught in the same sneakers for every outfit. You have to be able to have some versatility and flexibility when it comes to your outfits. I recommend the Jordan 1. This sneaker occasionally makes Retro comebacks but there are colors available now at big retailers. This shoe originally came out in 1985 and, since then, has become the most iconic Jordan since Jordan himself. If you call yourself a sneakerhead, and you don't know anything of the Jordan 1, then are you really a sneakerhead?
3) The Travel Shoe (I Recommend: Adidas Ultra Boost)
When travelling, you know you're most likely walking everywhere. We always want to have that one sneaker that is the most comfortable of them all. Spending long days walking up and down the strips of Los Angeles or spending your nights with the bright lights of New York City, you need that guaranteed comfort. I recommend the Adidas Ultra Boost. Ever since Kanye West signed with Adidas in 2013, Adidas' market has blown up with some of the most wearable and comfortable sneakers in the game. The Ultra Boost are available at big retailers and many other colors to help you match with whatever occasion no matter where you are in the world.
4) The Boot (I Recommend: Triple Black 6" high Timberland)
Whether you live in the snowtropolis of Central/Northern/Western/Etc. New York State or the blazing state of Arizona, you need a boot in your arsenal. Some days, you just got to go gritty and dark, and just need that appropriate boot for the added drudge effect. Nothing is better than a nice boot and I recommend the "Triple Black" 6" high Timberland available at most big retailers such as Footlocker and Finish Line. Plus, black goes with everything.
5) Shoes You Can Wear With a Suit (I Recommend: "Space Jam" Jordan 11)
Lately, the fashion industry has blurred the lines between formality and casual. Some people hate to wear suits and some can't wear anything but a suit. One thing is for sure, there are people like myself that love to wear suits but hate looking like everyone else. There are plenty of sneakers that people have been able to wear with a suit and make it look good, like the all black Converse Chuck Taylor low. However, I recommend the "Space Jam" Jordan 11, only because of its beautiful patent leather wrapping around the whole base of the shoes upper. So if you're looking to dress up, and add your own flavor to your look, definitely give these shoes a shot.
A shoe that has released in the past, and may be hard to obtain, is seeming to make a comeback during the holiday season of 2016. Be sure to stay on the look out for any release information using Kicksonfire.com for all the best news on sneakers.
