Whether your big family is extended, blended or immediate, here are five reasons you would never give up being surrounded by so much love.
1. There's always someone who is down to do something with you.
Let's be honest, If you're from a big family, your contacts list is probably 80 percent family members. Your best friend cancelled your dinner plans? Call up your cousin! Even if they don't want to go out, chances are that they will invite you over for dinner (free food!). Or hey, your little sister is probably needing that new makeup from Ulta... Food court food anyone?
2. You have many shoulders to cry on.
One of the greatest things of coming from a big family is that when you need to vent or cry or even complain about another family member, there is someone there to listen. If you've vented all that you can to one person, you have so many people to choose from for your next vent session. That way you're not throwing all your burdens on one person's shoulders.
3. You can act like you see each other every day.
Social media has done wonders for us big families. We get to see the pictures and posts from our cousins who live what feels like a billion states away. So when we do see them, we don't need a lengthy recap of the last few months. We can just ask about what we want to and go from there.
4. There's no such thing as running out of food.
When the whole family gets together, there shall be food. So much food. Literally enough food that you don't even have to fight your cousins for the leftover cheese and crackers - because, don't worry, Mamaw made each person their own little container.
5. Family group chats.
This is my personal favorite part of having a big family. Whether the group is chatting online or in person, you never know who is going to say what. Joking about a little blue suit, arguing about who is bringing the ice to the reunion or even bantering with your significant other. There is something real and true about doing it with family.
I feel so blessed to have so many family members. But I am totally dreading all the money that I am going to have to spend at my future wedding to feed you all!
