For those of you unfortunate souls who have not heard of BoJack Horseman, or who have yet to watch it, here are 5 reasons to go put on your pajamas, put your phone on do not disturb and binge watch this show.

1. It’s Just Straight Up Funny

BoJack Horseman is literally a cartoon about a sad, washed-up, celebrity alcoholic horse. The show has a storyline of his past Hollywood life and the lives of those he has affected, but there are tons of puns and original jokes thrown in. The satire is great, and every scene of the show has jokes in the background that you have to be quick to catch on to. All of the characters have likable personalities because they’re either witty, hysterical, or just idiotic. I can promise you there will be at least one character you’ll fall in love with.

2. Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad) is the voice of Todd.

Speaking of characters you’ll fall in love with, I’m like 98% sure it’ll be Todd Chavez, who is voiced by the immensely talented and beloved Aaron Paul. Todd is always optimistic and has the innocence of a child. He is certainly a stoner, but once you meet Todd you just want to get high with him and share a pizza, (or at least I do anyway). If you watched Breaking Bad, you’ll understand the connection between Jesse Pinkman and Todd, and how amazing it is that the same actor gets to play both characters in two totally different shows.

3. The Reality of Animation

Don’t get me wrong, I know this is still a cartoon, but it is one of the rare cartoons that show you the negative aspects of life, the REAL aspects of life. It focuses on themes like the evils of Hollywood, women’s rights and the struggles of relationships. This show practically gave me life advice. BoJack starts to reveal his sadness and loneliness in the show, and in 24 minutes per episode, it teaches you that loneliness is okay, and feeling sad is a part of life. It is the only cartoon I have seen to put me to tears due to how real the scenarios are, and how relatable the show is, even if I am relating to an animated horse.

4. The Inspirational Messages

The quotes in BoJack Horseman are so simple, yet you can’t help but rewind the episode to hear them again. One of my favorites is “When you look at someone through rose-colored glasses, all of the red flags just look like flags.” That punched me in the stomach, especially hearing it alone in my room at 1am. But the show is full of strong one-liners that really hit you. And they definitely speak the truth.

5. The Soundtrack

First off, the theme song of BoJack is so fucking cool, and it was made by a member of the Black Keys. The ending credits song is made by Grouplove. It really cannot get better than that. With that said, if you watch all 3 seasons of BoJack Horseman, and find it stupid, or a waste of your time, just walk away with a better music taste. There are songs in this show that are so emotional and mind-altering, please just take some time out to listen to these few songs that I fell in love with. They are beautiful and I swear they can heal any shitty day I’m having. Some suggestions are:

- Sea of dreams by Oberhofer

- Parade by Kevin Morby

- Daylight by Foxworth Hall

To sum it all up, grab something to drink (probably some bourbon) and some tissues, and go watch BoJack Horseman. You will laugh and you will cry and it will tear you apart and bring you back together again in only 3 seasons, but it will be worth it. See for yourself.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
