Every year almost 8 million people visit Hawaii. And why so many? Well, I recently took a trip to find out for myself. Here's a list of the 5 top reasons (and yes these photos are real, I took them myself) you should visit Hawaii at least once in your lifetime.
1. The Perfect Weather (Year Round!)
With temperature's ranging from the low 70's to mid 80's, Hawaii has some of the best weather in the entire world. Although the islands have a dry season and a rainy season, the temperature remains steady so it is always the perfect time to visit. Occasional rain showers keep the island green and luscious, while the trade winds blow a steady and soft breeze across the islands.
2. The Endless Outdoor Adventures
Throughout Hawaii, there are hundreds of parks, waterfalls, and hiking trails (legal and not legal) waiting to be explored. Some of the most famous hiking trails are The Stairway to Heaven, The Crouching Lion Hike, and Diamond Head Summit Trail. Not to mention, the view's are spectacular.
3. The Beaches
Hawaii has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With over 750 miles of shoreline, you are bound to find the perfect beach for you. Hawaii is also home to the famous Black Sand Beach and Green Sand Beach. The Black Sand Beach receives its pigment from volcanic/lava minerals and the Green Sand Beach receives its pigment from a mineral named olivine. Although I did not get to see either of these beaches, they definitely are on my bucket list to visit.
4. The Laidback Lifestyle
When visiting Hawaii, you get a little taste of the Hawaiian island's "relaxed" lifestyle. They even promote the "aloha spirit", which refers to a life energy one can attain that helps a person in resolving problems, achieving goals, and achieving any state of mind a person wishes. They even created the "shaka" sign, which means "hang loose". This symbol is often seen in the surfing culture, which Hawaii proudly represents (Hawaii is the home to one of the top surfing capitals of the world!) Furthermore, of course, everyone has to work in order to make money. However, many workplaces in Hawaii are tourist driven and laid back, which makes the experience enjoyable for everyone.
5. The Culture
In Hawaii, there are a variety of cultures and almost everyone is a minority. However, this gives you access to learning and experiencing many cultures all at once. Two of the more predominant cultures in Hawaii are the Filipinos and the Japanese, but many other cultures such as the Korean and (obviously) the Hawaiian cultures are also present. Because of all the cultures, there are so different many events and food options to immerse yourself in.
