With summer beginning for most college students, it’s now time to start thinking about summer plans. Some students will be staying on campus and taking online classes, while others will be living on their own and some will be heading back home to mom and dad. Either way, there are a few things each college student should try to do before heading back to campus in the fall

1. Catch up with high school friends.

Whether you’ve kept in contact on a daily basis or haven’t spoken since graduation, get back in touch with your high school friends! Gather everyone together and go out for some ice cream or curl up in someone’s living room and watch movies like you did when you were fifteen. It will be a great opportunity to learn how the “real world” has treated all of you, and you’ll find yourself giggling most of the night over embarrassing things you used to do together.

2. Go to concerts.

Summer concerts are always a blast. Get a group of friends together and make a day out of a concert. There are plenty of tours each summer, so there’s bound to be something you and your pals will find interesting enough to want to go to.

3. Work. Work. Work.

Being a broke college student, you need to take advantage of your opportunity to make plenty of extra cash this summer! Get a part-time job, or continue working where you have been. Now that you’re mostly free from classes, your open availability will allow you to get more hours and save up more money.

4. Take a roadtrip.

This will be more fun if it’s pretty spontaneous. Get a friend or two, a car and just start driving. You could end up stopping somewhere cool that’s only an hour away or end up three states away. With good friends and good music, road trips are always a blast.

5. Pull an all-nighter for a good reason.

In college, we’re so used to pulling all-nighters tucked away in our room surrounded by textbooks and coffee. This summer, pull a fun all-nighter. Go to IHop or McDonalds at 4 a.m. with your friends, have a Netflix marathon or run through Walmart together after hours. All-nighters like these leave the best memories, so take advantage of them while you still have the chance.

6. Spend time with family.

Odds are, your family hasn’t seen much of you since you went off to school. If you’re not living at home this summer, make an extra effort to spend at least a few days with your family. They really miss you, and just seeing you again is sure to brighten up their day.

7. Host a party.

A pool party or a cookout would be best, especially with this nice summer weather! Invite all of your friends (including your college friends who are willing to drive the distance) and just be surrounded by good friends and summertime! This summer is your opportunity to lay back and enjoy life after being stressed to the max these past few months, so don’t let it slip past you!

8. Sleep all day.

After a long school year, you're going to need to catch up on your relaxation. Take a day this summer and just stay in bed all day long. Sleep later than you ever would and then spend the rest of your day curled up in your PJs binge watching Netflix. Not every day of your summer has to be full of adventure. In fact, the lazy days like these may end up being the most enjoyable.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
