There is no doubt that New York City has one of the best running train systems in America. Actually, it made it to the list of best train systems in the world. So it's flabbergasting to some, when I try to convince them that it is actually better to have a car in New York City than to not have one. I am here to dispel that myth, yes. Having a car in NYC is better and here are five reasons why.

1. Having a car in NYC is good for holding large amounts of personal cargo.

I like to think of myself as a flamboyant person. So that means I like to shop in order to keep up with my flamboyant lifestyle. Although I like to shop for clothes, a lot, I am also a responsible person and I have to shop for items that I need such as toiletries, grocery and other necessities. Once the shopping is done, if I did not have a car, I would have to carry all of the bags I collect, from point A to point B. That can be very frustrating and at times causes extreme arm and or back ache. Before I had a car, I would have to plan out my week: Monday shop, Tuesday do the laundry and Thursday pick up items from Target. Such a pain. With a car, I can load as many bags as I want, with no stress.

2. Having a Car in NYC help's complete your 'To Do' list faster

I am not the only person that has a major 'To Do' list, many of us do and living in New York, sometimes, your to do list may require you to have to travel across town or most likely to another borough! Before I had my car, I would have to depend on the mercy of the train. With all of the train delays and or service changes, I would have to cut my To Do List in half and if I had 'To Do's' over the weekend--forget about it. Not to mention in 2019, the L train will shut down for 18 months, causing hundreds to find other methods of transportation. With a car I could make 6 stops and it would still be morning, and I would not have to worry about any train issues.

3. Having a Car in NYC, can give you a peace of mind/ personal space

Coming home from a long busy day at work, sometimes you just want to have a peace of mind. Having a car allows me to hop in, turn on some music and just reflect on my day. I don't have to deal with crowed trains, homeless smells, and loud conversations. I can drive my car to where I need to be and think and relax in peace.

4. Having a car in NYC helps you gain a simple skill

If you have a car, then that means you've taken the necessary steps to get a drivers license. Having the skill of driving goes beyond having a car in New York City. I hope one doesn't plan to stay in NYC forever, you might want to take a trip to Georgia or California, places where you cannot survive without cars) and instead of spending boat loads on Uber or a taxi, you could rent car and do your own thing. I am going go out on a limb and say this but, what if there is a zombie apocalypse and you needed to escape via car? Well if you had a driving skill it just might save your life one day.

5. Having a car in NYC is pure convenience

l mean come on, let's be real. Having a car is convenient for almost anything and everything but if you want to be technical, having a car in NYC is most convenient because, you don't have to walk. It's convenient in times of extreme weather conditions. It's convenient for late night travel or spur of the moment activities. It's convenient for lugging children around. I have a niece and sometimes I don't want to go through the stress of having to lug her stroller on to a train or bus.

Having a car is NYC is really a great add on to your independence. You can explore so much so fast. So the next time someone says that famous line, "You don't need a car in NY," send them this article.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
