5 Reasons To Fall In Love With Country Music

For the people who have never found an interest in country music or for the people, like me, who lost their love for country music at some point and want to find it again.

I love so many different genres of music, but my top choice for anything I am doing from studying to concerts and everything in between is and will always be country music.

It has been there for so many parts of my life. Good and bad, happy and sad, big and small no matter what was happening in my life I knew I could always count on country music. Though country music and I have not always been close, it is such a big part of my life now and I would not trade it for anything. It was pretty easy for me to fall in love with country music and here are 5 reasons why you should fall in love with it too.

1. Perfect for ReminiscingAbout Summer

Ever listened to Jake Owen in the middle of winter with a huge snowstorm happening outside your window and all you could think about was a barefoot blue jean night?? Yeah, me too and it is one the best experiences ever! Listening to country music automatically takes me back to summer and I can't say that about any other genre of music. When you can feel like you are chilling in the heat of the summer during any part of the year, it means that the music must be pretty special.

2. Relatable Lyrics

Something you very rarely find in a pop song nowadays and never in songs that really do not have any words is lyrics that actually have some real meaning and completely match whatever you are going through, have gone through, or will go through. They are lyrics that you do not just sing just because, but because they actually make you think and they mean something to you.

3. The Concerts

And now for the reason I decided on this topic. I just got home from a Old Dominion and Jake Owen concert that, like all country concerts I have been to, has absolutely changed my life. There is something so special about country concerts that you just do not get at other concerts. If you have ever been to a country concert, you know exactly what i'm talking about when I say you feel like anything is possible when you hear the artist perform your favorite song. I definitely recommend an outdoor summer country concert because there is absolutely nothing like it!

4. Great for Any and Every Mood

It does not matter what kind of mood you are in, with country music you can never go wrong. For the times when I'm feeling blue, Rascal Flatts' "Here Comes Goodbye" is always my go to and when I'm angry "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood always gives me a chance to vent. Finally, "I Like it, I Love it" by the one and only Tim McGraw always keeps my spirits high and guarantees a fun time.

5. Bonds So Many Different People

Some of the relationships I have with people have formed because of our shared love for country music. In fact, one of my good friends reminded me of why I love country music after I stopped listening to it for a couple of years. A lot of people expect to be surrounded by only cowboys and cowgirls when they go to country concerts and while they are definitely in attendance, there is a huge variety of people. From your stereotypical cowboy to the last person you would ever expect. This is something you will not find everywhere and with every music genre.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
