Contrary to the lack of decor, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Although everyone seems to be just about ready for the Holiday season to begin, we still have a week before it is officially what is deemed to be the most wonderful time of the year.
With all of the hustle, bustle, and stress that this time of the year brings, and the rush for stores to set up and prepare for Christmas, it can be hard to remember to take the time to stop and appreciate all that we have to be thankful for.

Here is a list of just some of the reasons we should be thankful this Thanksgiving.
1. Food, Glorious Food!
The ultimate cheat day. This is one of the only days of the entire year where it's completely acceptable to eat whatever you want and as much as you want of it with no judgement or guilt tied to it. The day is literally all about food, and we should really be thankful for it. We should also get our eating pants ready....
2. The Food Coma
With eating just about everything in sight comes the overwhelming feeling of being stuffed, warm, and tired. The best part about Thanksgiving day, and one of the reasons we should be thankful for it, is the fact that you can leave everyone at the table, unbutton your pants on the couch, and take a nap - no questions asked.
3. The Calm Before The Storm
If you're a college student, or happen to work in retail (Or if you're me, both), you know that this is the last weekend to relax before life gets hectic. Crazy long holiday shifts, crazy customers, final papers, the like, and all that procrastinating you did throughout the semester is about to slap you in the face. It's about to pour kiddos, and we should be thankful for this one last moment of relaxation.
4. Friends & Family, Of Course
Don't forget to let all of your loved ones know how much they mean to you, not only on Thanksgiving, but everyday. Sometimes we get so caught up we forget how important they actually are to us. Hug a friend. Kiss your mom. Call your Grandpa. They put up with your shenanigans everyday, and for that we should be thankful.
5. GILMORE. GIRLS. REVIVAL. ON. NETFLIX
You were probably expecting something like "Black Friday Deals" or anything along those lines, but as a retail employee, I kind of don't even want to think about it. Cyber Monday is where it's at, anyway. More important than sales, however, is that there is a Gilmore Girls revival coming to Netflix this Friday, November 25, and that is something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
