5 Reasons I Love Going to College with my Twin.

It was never mine and Nick's intention to go to the same college, but I am SO happy we did!

5 Reasons I Love Going to College with my Twin.

1. It was one less goodbye I had to worry about.

All college students can relate to the dreaded end of summer when we have to say goodbye to our family, friends and most importantly, our pets. When Nick and I finally revealed which college we would be attending, I was so relieved. I couldn't imagine not seeing him everyday after literally being inseparable since birth. Saying goodbye to him would have been impossible, so I am very grateful that I didn't have to.

2. I always have someone to protect me.

Okay, its not like theres wild bears around campus and I need him to fight them off, but its really nice to know that if I'm ever in trouble or need someone to walk me home, he is only a phone call away. My twin and I know each other better than we know ourselves, and its nice that not matter what I always have someone close by who will have my back and be on my side.

3. I never have to eat alone.

When it seems like everyone else I've ever met on campus is either at practice, in class or has already eaten, I'm in a pickle! Everyone fears sitting in the dining hall alone and looking like a total dweeb that has no social life. And plus, eating alone can get really boring. It's nice to have someone who will never turn me down when I ask him to join me for lunch (mostly because he loves to eat but partially because he loves me).

4. We created one big, happy family.

Since we live in different buildings, have different majors, and are involved in different things on campus, we are affiliated with a bunch of different people. But this has made for a fun group of wild animals that I am proud to call my friend group.

5. I don't ever feel away from home.

I love Springfield College. It has become my home in so many ways (not just because the GPS in my phone automatically assumes my school address is my home address). My friends here have become my family, and my dorm room bed is by far comfier than my one at home, but having Nick here makes the feeling of being actually home not so far away.

So whats the moral of my story? Never let the fear of being on the same campus of your sibling keep you from choosing your dream college. Nick and I have plenty of space (literally I only see him when I want to) but its just enough space that I can still have my own college experience and share it with my favorite person in the whole world, my twin brother, at the same time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
