6 Reasons Why Attending The Same School As Your Sibling Isn't That Bad

While you are in high school, going to the same school as your sibling is inevitable. However, when both you and your sibling go to the same college or university, there are definitely some benefits. While going through the college decision-making process last year, the last thing I wanted to do was follow my older sister and go to the same school as her. There was something weird about that. However, attending the same university as my sister has been a blessing. Here are a few reasons why you should consider your older sibling’s university.

1. You always have someone to talk to when you miss home. Getting homesick is inescapable when you go away to school. When you start to get homesick, just going to your sibling’s apartment or walking across campus with them can brighten your day and make being away from home not so bad.

2. Your family is divided into two towns. It’s a weird concept to think about when half of your family lives back at home and the other half of your family now lives in a new city, yet you all come back to a warm feeling at home.

3. You always have someone to hang out with. It’s Friday night, and all of your friends are headed home for the weekend or busy working. It’s all good; you can watch a movie or play a board game with your sibling.

4. Advice. You can get great, reliable advice on what electives or general education classes you should take and with whom. Whether it is if you can make it from point A to point B in 10 minutes or where the shortcuts are, your sibling’s got your back.

5. Family pride. Your family goes from supporting your high school teams to college teams. You can always head to the next athletic event with your whole family to cheer on those Huskies.

6. They got the inside scoop on clubs and organizations. They have been on campus for a couple years now, and they know which organizations are successful and which are duds. Joining them in their organizations can also be an exciting experience. It doesn’t only allow you to meet new people, but it makes the process of meeting new people not that scary.

Overall, going to the same university as your sibling is definitely a blessing, and I wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
