5 Reasons I Love Being A Christian

An inside look on life as a Christian.

Christianity is an important part of my life. My religion helps me on bad days and makes the good days even better. I can rely on other Christian friends and, of course, on God. For those of you who may be wondering what benefits Christianity may add to your life, here is a short list I have composed of why being a Christian is so special.

5. Unconditional Friendship

I love all of my friends. Friends are what get us through life. Spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, coworkers, teammates, siblings, and pets give us that extra push to succeed and be happy. Now imagine if you had a friend whom you never feared judgement from and could tell every secret to, who would always forgive you for whatever you did no matter the crime. Wouldn't that be awesome? I can say from firsthand experience that it is quite an amazing thing having a friend like that. His name is Jesus Christ and he can be your friend too.

4. Forgiveness for Mistakes

God forgives you for every mistake you make, from small sins to big sins. God loves all his children and never excludes anyone, even if they have hurt him or gone against his will in their past. It makes life less stressful knowing this because it just goes to show that in the end, it will all be okay.

3. Comfort from Worrying

Worrying is a part of human nature. Everyone does it, but as a Christian, it's pointless to worry. Whether it's about school, a job, or family, I believe that with prayers and trusting that God has a path for you, it will all be okay. I know that everything that happens to you, even if it may be a disappointment, is all a part of God's greater plan for you. As a Christian it is our job to take what God gives us and make the most of it.

2. Happiness

Everyone goes through some sort of depression in their life, whether it is from a divorce, job loss, family problems, or even just having a bad day. Whenever I feel alone, the first thing that comes to my mind is that God is still here for me, and that's the most comforting fact that I can think of. What do I have to be sad about when I am always going to be loved by Jesus? Sometimes earthly matters may put us down, but don't let those things get under your skin when it's a part of God's plan. The only way to find happiness that will last a lifetime is through Jesus.

1. Heaven

What sounds better than eternal happiness? This is the greatest gift anyone could ever receive, and it's absolutely mind boggling to me why people who have heard about Christ deny this gift. It's totally free and all you have to do is accept Jesus as your savior. Even if I was on the edge and wasn't sure who I was and what I wanted to believe in, I couldn't say no to this gift. For those of you that are atheists who may be reading this, why even take the chance and disregard living through faith? Let's say you believe in God for your entire life here on earth and when you die, nothing happens. You as a being become extinct and that is the end of your existence. Even if I thought that were the case, I would still accept Jesus into my life and call myself a Christian, because what do you have to lose? Now let's say you live life as a Christian and you die to find out there is a life after death and that Heaven is an option. Now in my opinion that's a risk worth taking.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
