Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly. Everyone’s favorite duo. The classic love story of the paper salesman and the receptionist at Dunder Mifflin. It’s hard not to love them as a couple and these are a few of the reasons why.

1. They are realistic

Jim and Pam are the best because they’re real. They’re everyday people just like you and I. They’re not perfect supermodels with amazing jobs and a dream that no one could ever live up to. They have a 9-5 job working in an office selling paper. Everyone can be a fan of Chuck and Blair but not all of us can be born on the upper east side of Manhattan and have millions of dollars and perfect good looks.

2. The way they began

They didn’t start off being a perfect couple. Pam was literally engaged to another man. From season 1, we all couldn’t help but root for Jim over Roy the entire time because it was so obvious they were meant to be. The constant flirtation and tension of “will they or won’t they” was obvious to everyone else in the office except them. This made them that much more likable. Being best friends before being boyfriend and girlfriend is what made their relationship that much stronger.

3. They bring out the best in each other

Before Jim, Pam was just a shy, quiet receptionist. She never stood up for herself or spoke up for what she really thought or wanted. As the seasons progress and she starts dating Jim, she gains confidence and becomes more assertive with her feelings. Jim was always just a goofball who loved to play jokes on Dwight, but with Pam in his life he becomes a more serious man who knows his values. He always places Pam and his family first and knows how to be the perfect amount of romantic and goofy.

4. They aren't "perfect"

They actually fight, and they fight about real stuff. They have to work through hardships just like any other normal couple would have to do, and they do it perfectly. They know each other so well and know how to overcome any challenges they face together. They don’t do all of the things you would think a “perfect” couple would. They don’t have a perfect wedding, they don’t live in a giant house, there is nothing extravagant about them. They are average people, but that is what makes us all want to be like them. It seems do-able.

5. They are perfect

Despite they aren’t everyone’s typical idea of “perfect”, they’re still perfect. They’re perfect for each other and completely compatible. They are both kind, silly, smart and are the people that everyone wishes they could be like. They know how to make sacrifices for each other and they know how to make each other happiest. It’s impossible not to love them and not be rooting for them.
