We thrive off of music. Whether you’re a dancer, a singer, both, or neither, we still live for the songs that put words together in which we can’t. We are oftentimes amazed to discover we are not alone, and that some of our favorite artists have experienced or are experiencing the same things we are. What better way to celebrate this unity of life experiences than through live music? Below are five reasons why I believe that concerts are some of the best experiences one can have.
1) You're hearing your favorite songs sung live by your favorite artists.
One of my absolute favorite parts of a concert is sharing the experience with hundreds and sometimes thousands of people. When the artist pulls away from the microphone and all you hear are the voices around you singing a song that has lifted you up in its own special way, it's truly a moment of pure magic.
2) Concerts make great dates.
What's better than finding someone cute who loves the same music you do? Going to a concert with someone cute who loves the same music you do. Concerts cater to all types of couples too. Whether you're having a picnic in lawn seating or tearing it up in the pit, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
3) Concerts are a super fun thing to do with your friends.
One of music's best qualities is that it's incredibly sharable. Sharing and swapping music is a great way to connect with your friends. Concerts are also a great way to deepen those friendships. Jumping up and down and singing your lungs out to your favorite songs with your favorite people is a memory you will have forever. And, if the show's out of town, then that calls for a road-trip, which is honestly one of the best parts of a concert experience.
4) You get to meet new people who love the same music you do.
Concerts are a great way to make some new friends as well! Music touches all lives in all places, and it brings people together like nothing else does. At your next concert, turn to the person standing next to you and ask them what their favorite song is. You might make a brand new friend!
5) You might experience exclusive content that you can't get anywhere else.

Artists almost always have little surprises for their fans at their concerts. You may learn the origins of a song, get to hear a preview or two from the next album, or get to hear an intro to a song that hasn't been released anywhere but live in concert. Personally, I love when the artist talks to the audience in between songs. I love that personal connection.
You can be in a giant arena or a tiny bar. You can be on a date or with a group of friends. You jump around and sing as loud as you can or you can sit back and take it all in. No matter your preferences, concerts are for all people of various ages and stages in life. There's nothing like hearing my favorite music live, for it truly comes to life before your eyes.
