It's deeper than seeing my favorite member.

Why I Love Going to Concerts

Listening to music is an outlet for many people, and attending your favorite band's concert is one of the best things that can happen to you. I have many favorite bands, and every time I see one it's like the first time. My heart beats fast as the clock counts down the seconds until they are on stage; the sound of the crows screaming as the lights turn off; my favorite, when the band stops playing and lets the crowd sing. I have had only positive experiences going to concerts, with each time getting better than the last.

It does not matter if you are in the first or last row because you still experience the music. You can still feel the music in your body throughout the night and feel one with thousands of people. What makes going to concerts even better is going with someone who means a lot to you. One time in the summer I went with my best friend, Megan. We went to a few concerts where we did not know the artists, but we went because there were cheap tickets. When we went, we had the best time. We would make up words to songs we did not know, and sang excitedly when we knew a line to a song.

The reason for going to a concert is your passion for music. You get emotional because you can actually feel the music instead of just hearing it. All of the barriers between you, the fans, and the band are broken.

My sister and I went to a 5sos soundcheck and waited outside, in the burning sun, for three and a half hours just to see them preform for 15 minutes. That whole time, we talked to each other and the people around us who share similar music tastes. The wait was over before we knew it, and they were on. It was completely worth it. I got to see the band in a different light, and hear songs live for the first time. Each time I go to a concert, my view on music changes and my understanding for songs grows deeper.

My reason for going to concerts is being able to hear songs that mean a lot to me preformed live. If I am there, I can feel the song resonating with me, and I can see the singer relating to their music as well. I love being one with the crowd because they all feel the same way I do; I don't feel alone because the people in the crowd get me, they understand.

If you have never been to a concert, I highly encourage you to go. When you go, you eventually hear music differently due to seeing it in a real life setting, not just from your phone. Concerts can change you; they can make you the happiest you've ever been from three minutes to three hours. No amount of words can describe the feeling you get in your stomach when you hear your favoirte song played. You find a sense of belonging with people just like you, and that is why I love going to concerts.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
