One of my favorite things is traveling. I love hearing about new places, seeing new things and meeting new people. When many people think of traveling, they think of going out of the country to explore a new culture. While that would be my favorite thing to do, there are so many neat places in the United States that are worth checking out and visiting! Here are five places I have been that should be a bucket list item for everyone.
1. Seattle, Washington
This place is definitely one of my favorite places I have ever been! I loved getting to go to the first Starbucks ever established, dodging the fish throwing at the Pike Place market, and sticking my gum on the ever famous gum wall. If you love coffee, the lake, and the big city atmosphere, Seattle is for you! Also, don't forget to check out the space needle and buy yourself a figurine of Bigfoot!
2. Gulf Shores, Alabama
I'm sure this is one of the most common places that southerners go to vacation. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are beautiful places if you like to relax by the ocean! I love catching crabs, building sand castles, and just taking in God's beautiful creation at the beach.
3. Rocky Mountains, Colorado
I lived in Colorado for four years, we would visit the Rocky Mountains and the Estes Park area very often, but it wasn't until my senior trip when I went skiing for the first time. First of all, I am not a huge fan of skiing, but I know there are tons of people that are so talented in this sport and they should visit Colorado! There are plenty of ski resorts to choose from. For those people who don't like skiing, who doesn't love snowball fights, snowmen, and hot chocolate? In the mountains of Colorado, it always feels like Christmas time no matter what season it is. Colorado is another place to just sit and enjoy God's incredible creation
4. Chicago, Illinois
I have been to Chicago six times and it never gets old. I love visiting the Ghiradelli chocolate shop, eating Giordano's Chicago style pizza, and spending time at the Navy Pier. If you like the big city, you have to visit Chicago! There are plenty of things to explore like the Shedd Aquarium, the many museums and parks, and just people watching is definitely an entertaining time.
5. Mount Rushmore, South Dakota
I was never one who enjoyed history or politics, or learning about presidents, but one neat thing to see is Mount Rushmore. The artwork is just a neat thing to see. It took the artists 17 years to complete this task. But now millions of people throughout the world come to see this sculpture carved into a mountain each year.
Those are just a few of the places I have been here in the United States of America. Put them on your bucket list because they are a definite place everyone should visit during their lifetime!
