Its the most wonderful time of the year! Traditions are running ramped and people are always cheery (or really sassy depending in the person). Sometimes things can get a bit old though, so here are some not so typical Christmas festivities:
Make decorating the tree a drinking game
- someone drops an ornament...drink
- Mom talks about “baby’s first Christmas”…drink
- Feud about who will put the topper on the tree…drink
- Someone drops the topper…drink
- You’re confronted about your future plans…chug!
Learn how to cook your favorite dish
I wish I was good in the kitchen, but I must say I could use some work. So this Christmas I want to step up my game and learn how to be #domesticated.
Have a Onezie Party
Instead of the usually tacky sweater, change it up and tell everyone to wear their favorite onezie. Trust me when I say there are some awesome outfit possibilities. Although, it's all fun and games until you have to go to the bathroom.
Go to your local tree lighting
I’m sure some people do this already, but if you don’t, check it out! It’s so much fun to see the giant tree light up and be surrounded by people and lights and decorations. It’s something you can do with your family or your friends!
Work at the Soup Kitchen
Christmas is such a great time to give back to your community and serve! Working at the Soup Kitchen or a shelter is a great and rewarding way to spend your holidays. Seeing your help do so much good for others is a great feeling and can make your holiday season so much more memorable. It’s the season of giving and I think most people would honestly say the giving is even better than the receiving.
Christmas is the time to be around the people you love and to do the things that make you happy. So this year, find a new tradition to start! It is so easy to get caught up in our own holiday craziness around this time, but it's important to remember that the holiday isn’t about just traditions, gifts, and decorations. It’s about being with the people we love and making people happy, including you. Remember to settle down this holiday season and give yourself a break. Celebrate the things you are thankful for and enjoy the time spent with those you love most!
