5 Simple Ways To Make Your Significant Other Feel Special

You don't have to go out and buy them a beautiful new Ferrari like Tyga did for Kylie Jenner. You don't have to get on Ted Mosby's level and steal a blue french horn off the wall of a restaurant. We all have busy days and our own agendas, we sometimes lose sight of the simple things. Don't feel like you have to go to extreme lengths and shower them with extravagant gifts, or take them to 5 star restaurants all the time to show that you care. It's the little things that mean the most. Keep it simple, and take a few minutes out of your day to make sure the one you love knows how loved they are. Everyone wants and needs to feel appreciated. If you're not great with words or showing emotion, this is perfect for you because these small gestures will speak volumes to your significant other.

Never stop doing the little things for your special someone.

1. Grab them a coffee

Start their day off right by getting them their favorite coffee. For about two dollars, you could make their entire day. If you live together, you could even make some at home. Worst case scenario: your significant other will happen to be a Starbucks fan and you'll have to awkwardly stumble through their complicated order. It's a small price to pay to put a smile on their face. (Fingers crossed that your person prefers Dunkin' Donuts, it's way easier to order from)

2. Leave them a note

This doesn't mean you have to pour your heart and soul out and leave them a novel, just a simple: "I love you" on a post it, napkin, or scrap piece of paper will suffice. This gesture is completely free, and it will make your person smile.

3. Make their favorite food for them

You don't have to spend a significant portion of your pay check to make them happy. This also doesn't have to be a fancy gourmet meal. You could bake them cookies, or make them a simple dinner. You could make them a sandwich, or some easy mac. I've never seen anyone frown while eating a bowl of mac and cheese. Take a little time out of your day and earn some "brownie points" with your loved one. (No apologies, that pun was absolutely necessary).

4. Send them a random, nice text

Take 5 seconds to send a "Thinking of you, hope you're having a nice day," text. Obviously, it would be better if you wrote more, but that short message will speak volumes if that's what you're more comfortable doing. It won't cost you a thing, and it will make your significant other feel special.

.

5. Compliment them

This one speaks for itself. Tell them how beautiful or handsome they look. Simply saying, "You look beautiful today," would make their whole week. You don't need to buy them expensive flowers or gifts. A few kind words go a long way. Compliments go beyond looks. If they're working hard in school or at their job, tell them you're proud of them. If they're working out, offer words of encouragement by acknowledging their progress. If it's a Sunday morning and your significant other rolls over with bed head and no make up on, tell her she's beautiful. It doesn't cost a thing to compliment the one you love, and making them happy shouldn't be a chore, it should make you happy too.

I know it's hard putting yourself out there sometimes, but it truly doesn't take much to put a smile on your significant other's face. In a relationship, it's easy to get complacent and forget about the little things you can do for one another. Never stop doing the little things.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
