5 Hilarious Facts You Didn't Know About Cam And Nidhi

Cameron Holl and Nidhi Khurana are two of the most popular names on campus right now, as they are in the race for MSA President and Vice President. There’s a lot that you may already know about them. For example, both are in Greek Life, are well-qualified for the positions they are running for,and are very passionate about lowering the cost of college and addressing issues like mental health and sexual assault on campus. However, after sitting down with them for about an hour and a half, I discovered some hilarious and interesting information about them that I just couldn’t keep to myself.

1. Khurana can shotgun a can of Diet Coke in five seconds.

We all have our addictions. For some, it may be Starbucks, for others, it might be the current series they're watching on Netflix. For Khurana, it’s Diet Coke. According to Holl, “Nidhi drinks a 12 pack of Diet Coke a day.” Given how much of this carbonated beverage she drinks, it was only a matter of time before they timed how long it would take her to shotgun an entire can. I have to say that I’m rather impressed with her time of five seconds. Perhaps if Holl and Khurana win their MSA Campaign, Khurana will be bold enough to do a Diet Coke keg stand?

2. Holl took music lessons with Jason Mraz (kind of).

Before the “I’m Yours” singer-songwriter got his big break, he took music lessons at Mechanicsville Music, a family-owned music store located in a suburb outside of Richmond, Virginia. Holl took cello lessons at that same music store, so I guess you could say Holl and Mraz took music lessons together/are best friends/wrote a song together? Maybe. Although Holl’s music career didn’t exactly take off the way Mraz’s did, his cello career lasted 10 years and is still a hobby of his today. He can play everything from “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic” to “Under the Sea” from “The Little Mermaid.”

3. Khurana has planned her wedding six times on Pinterest.

Khurana has admitted to dedicating a solid three hours out of her week toward planning her wedding on Pinterest. At the promising age of 20, Khurana has planned her wedding six different times. If she can plan a wedding, she can plan an MSA campaign! And yes, it’s safe to assume she binge-watches “Say Yes to the Dress” as well.

4. Holl wants to be Elle Woods

His words, not mine. Holl plans on taking the LSAT and attending law school after graduation, as he is very passionate about public speaking and arguing. When asked where his “dream law school” would be, Holl stated that he “wants to be like Elle Woods and go to Harvard Law.” However, he’d rather have a cat by his side than a chihuahua. Way to dream big, Holl! No objections there.

5. Khurana can name all 44 presidents in under 17 seconds.

I’ve heard and seen her do this myself, folks. Nidhi does not mess around when it comes to her presidents. I would really like to see her and Macey Hensley (featured above on “The Ellen Show”) go head-to-head. Although I’m confident Khurana could beat her in time, I don’t think she’d sound nearly as cute as the 5-year-old. Sorry, Khurana!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
