Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday... I mean, who doesn't love the amazing food? My parents make the best food for Thanksgiving, so for this Thanksgiving break, I would like to share my favorite dishes! These foods are not in a particular order, these are just my favorite ones to eat every year for Thanksgiving.
1. Pineapple Stuffing
My sister makes the best pineapple stuffing ever! It is like normal stuffing that is included with Thanksgiving, but with a little sweet taste of pineapple. It is absolutely delicious.
2. Turkey With Homemade Gravy
Since my father is a meat cutter and great cook, he deals with the turkey. The turkey is stuffed with the usual stuffing and it is cooked to a medium or well done. The turkey is delicious but what really makes the meal is the gravy. My dad makes this homemade gravy that is to die for. It goes great with the turkey, but it also goes great on stuffing and mashed potatoes.
3. Sweet Potatoes With Marshmallows
I am not a fan of mashed potatoes, but sweet potatoes are something that is a tradition in my house. My parents usually mash the sweet potatoes and put some marshmallows on top and cook it in the oven. It has a wonderful light and fluffy texture to it. The marshmallow adds a very simple sweetness to the sweet potato.
4. Grilled Asparagus
This is the dish my mom is famous for. She puts olive oil in a glass pan and puts the asparagus in the oven until they are cooked fully. I am not a fan of asparagus, but when my mom cooks them it is probably the best thing to have. It is cooked to the point where it melts in your mouth, but there is crunchiness to it as well.
5. Deviled Eggs With Paprika
My sister and I are famous for this dish. I will eat hard-boiled eggs, but these are my favorite. This recipe is especially great because of the seasoning. You simply mix the egg yolk and put it back into the hard-boiled eggs. After that process, you add some paprika and dijon mustard to make it spicy.
There are many different foods that you can make at Thanksgiving this year (including these!). Simply search these recipes through Food Network (that is where I have found most of these recipes) and you should be able to enjoy these recipes right at home. From my family to yours, have a happy Thanksgiving.
