On behalf of college students and young adults everywhere, we are sick of people wasting their money on gifts that we will never use. Sorry, but we will never wear the shirt you bought us with a big, sparkly butterfly that is probably the wrong size anyway. Literally do not waste your money or time finding us "the perfect gift" because unless you ask us, you will probably have no idea what it is. Therefore I have created a list of five easy, yet applicable presents for any college student or young adult anywhere. You are welcome.

1. Coffee

Literally anything coffee is life. Coffee is our bloodstream at this point. We like to think of it as a lifestyle, not an addiction. So feel free to supply our habit. This can include but is not limited to; actual coffee, k-cups, fancy coffee maker, coffee maker accessories, gift cards to coffee shops, cute coffee cups, and travel mugs.

2. Socks

Everyone loves some good ole socks. Fuzzy ones, long ones, short ones, and funny ones. Load us up. It is always good to have extras, especially when you are a professional at putting off laundry as much as possible.

3. Food

In case you were wondering, we pretty much go malnourished during the semester due to the fact that we are not adult enough to feed ourselves properly. Any kind of food is welcome. Actual food, take us to our favorite place that we cannot afford without adult money or gift cards for food to use throughout the semester. Anything to do with food is the perfect gift because it will be appreciated.

4. Gift Cards

Now some people feel like gift cards are a bit impersonal (and I understand I used to think the same way), but they are one of the best gifts to receive at this age. You know that my favorite place to go when I am stressed is Target. Perfect, get me a Target gift card. The money spent will definitely be appreciated and it is something that you know I will like because I personally picked it out. Nobody should get mad at getting gift cards for Christmas, be grateful that they care about you enough to let you pick out your own stuff with their money.

5. Money

Now, money is kind of a last stitch option, because you do not really know where it will go to depending on the person you are giving it to. But it is definitely a gift that will be used. We have bills. We need food. We like to splurge on stuff we do not really need but it seems like a good idea at the time. Or worst case scenario, it is some beer money to get us through the night when we return to our college town. Money is a gift that will never stop giving until we run out of it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
