5 Beauty Tricks Everyone Should Know

There are so many beauty tricks that you are bound to learn something new every time you read a list. No matter who you are, these tips are bound to help everyone make the most out of their body and feel comfortable with who they are. Everyone is beautiful and should be able to know the tips that will give you that extra boost you’ve been looking for!

1) Is your hair too dry? You may be washing it too often. Most experts only recommend washing your hair one to two times a week. Why? Because shampoos are built to get rid of dirt buildup and oils that reside in our hair. However, these oils are natural and exist to revive damaged hair. They are food for your hair and washing your hair every day does not give the oils their chance to work. Your hair will be very dry and frizzy. Now, I understand that hair feeling oily can get annoying and even mess with your styling method. Invest in a dry shampoo and after putting it in your hair, run a cold blow dry through it. Good as new and the oils have not been stripped from your hair!

2) Give your face a cleaning routine. You should already be washing your face every day and making sure to take off your makeup, but is it enough? For most people, no. There are a few things that should be used in every skin care routine in order to prevent acne, aging, and flaky skin. These things are cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. Each should be done once in the morning and once at night. Your face will thank you and you will see the results almost instantly.

3) Dry feet? You’ve done everything. You soak and scrub them. No matter how much you scrub your feet are still dry. This only gets worse in the warmer months, which can make many people self-conscious about their feet. Have no fear! There is something simple that you can do to help this. After soaking and scrubbing your feet, apply lotion to your feet. Make sure to really layer it on and use as much as you can spare. I recommend adding coconut oil to the lotion for an extra boost. After this, put some socks on and… sleep. Go to bed. Don’t walk around at all. The moisture within the socks will create the softest feet you have ever had.

4) Wet your beauty blender! I have had so many people who use foundation brushes or their fingers tell me that they stopped using a beauty blender because it did not work. Or their foundation looks blotchy after using a beauty blender, whether they realize or not. I find out the issue when I talk to them. They use their beauty blender dry. You aren’t supposed to. The creator of the beauty blender says that you are supposed to wet it and squeeze the water out before using your foundation. There are several reasons for this. Your foundation stays at the top instead of being absorbed all the way into the sponge, making it so you are using less product. The foundation goes on so much smoother without the dry sponge dragging your skin. Frankly, I think it just feels better when wet anyways.

5) Coconut oil for everything. Need a quick and easy deep conditioning treatment? Put coconut oil in your hair for a few hours. (Or all day if you have the time. The longer the better!) Put it on scars to fade them. Put it on those dark under-eye circles to face them. Put it on sunburns, nail cuticles, lips, stretchmarks, shave with it, etc. Seriously, this stuff can do wonders and if it isn’t already a must in your beauty cabinet, you should definitely be adding it soon.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
