Being a commuter student in college, I have really come across some gem drivers while trekking my way to class. All the qualities of drivers just really sweetens my tea. I mean really, I have to say thank you to these drivers, because if it wasn’t for them I would think that my life wasn’t in jeopardy, or that any person who took their driver’s test actually remembered the basic rules of driving and used them accordingly. I really am grateful for all the headaches, yells, slammed breaks and most of all lateness endured by my fellow drivers. Thank you, I am grateful to share the road with you all. It was really difficult to narrow down my favorite aspects of my fellow drivers, but somehow I have managed to limit it down five top notch qualities of fellow drivers.
1. The blinker game:
I love it when a fellow driver in front of me decides to use their blinker at the last possible moment. What is even better is when a driver doesn’t use their blinkers at all. I mean why were blinkers invented anyway, right? I think the cherry on top is when a driver will slow down, stop and then decide to use their blinker. Now while using your blinker is mandatory in the driver's ed handbook, my fellow drivers seem to have thrown their handbooks out the window and have made a game out of their blinkers. Do they feel like being courteous to the cars behind them, or is it more fun to keep other drivers on their toes? The world may never know.
2. When drivers run red lights:
I always love it when the light turns green for me and I start to drive forward and another driver speeds through a red light almost crashing into my car. Who needs coffee to wake them up in the morning, when they can get a jolt of adrenaline from having their life flash before their eyes. I just love drivers who keep me fearful for my life while on the road.
3. Cutting people off:
No it’s okay, really, I am thrilled another fellow driver cut me off. This is "Mario Kart," right? I mean, I suppose it's alright to risk your life, my life and other people’s lives around you, so your car can be in front of mine. What an accomplishment, pat yourself on the back Skippy.
4. Cutting people off, and then driving slowly:
What is better than getting cut off by a fellow driver? Getting cut off by a driver who then drives super slow in front of you. The driver cuts you off, and then at least has the decency to not speed, what a gem. This is my favorite quality about drivers while I drive to class in the morning.
5. Last, but certainly not least, driving under the speed limit:
This is another quality about my fellow drivers that I am really keen about, especially on days when I am running late to class. It’s understandable that people who don’t want to speed drive 10 miles under the speed limit - really, really understandable.
