Road trips are something everyone should experience at least once in their life. These trips can range from a half hour drive to a 24-hour drive. These trips can be taken with families or with a group of friends sometimes one is better than the other depending on the trip. Which ever type of trip you decide to go on do not stress about the timeline on getting, but instead enjoy the ride because a lot of times the drive is half the fun of the trip.

1. Road Trip Across Town

This is more like a “baby” road trip or a “road trip in training” because you will on be in the care for a max of an hour. Memories can still be made in the car in such a short time. Someone’s favorite song could come on and they start jamming out and now you have video proof of how “amazing” of a singer or dancer they are. Someone or everyone could reminisce on the old parts of town they used to go all the time. This trip could easily be a trial run for the rest of the trips listed below.

2. Road Trip Out Of State

This road trip takes a little more prepping and has a wide variety or options on where you and your family or friends could wind up. For my family the only two destinations for our out of state road trip that was considered a vacation was either a bigger city (such as Chicago) or the beach (such as Fort Meyers Beach in Florida). A trip to the bigger city was always fun because we had so much to look at on the drive, “Eye Spy” was a very popular game to play. We also had so much to talk about in anticipation of what we were going to see/do once we got there. If the destination is to the beach then the time of the drive is normally taken up with deciding what to do each day, but be completely prepared to ignore that entire schedule once you actually get to the beach. One tip for these type of road trips is that if you take these with your family be sure to have some type of movie playing device to divert arguments from happening.

3. Road Trip Across the Country

This road trip is for the more “advanced” travelers/drivers. This road trip, in my opinion, should only be taken when you are younger with your family so you don’t take up as much room, so your parents have more room to pack more unneeded items that will probably not get used at all. When you reach college age, this is more of a trip to take with friends, but because of how long of a drive this can end up being make sure to travel with close friends and try a refrain from arguing. The best way to refrain from arguing and ending friendships before you even get to your destination is to have an AMAZING music playlist. This probably takes the most planning out of the whole trip, make sure either you all put in time to make the playlist or you put the person with the most trusted and best taste in music in charge of such an important piece of the road trip.

4. Road Trip Out of the Country

This road trip is the king (or queen) of all road trips. It also is the only one that requires passports, so DO NOT forget those. For the American readers we only have two options on where we could possibly go, Mexico or Canada. A lot of young college kids will be happy to know that either destination has a lower drinking age than the U.S. The only reason I can think when people would could to either of these locations is Spring Break. This is normally a time of bad decision making and lost track of time. If you and your party deicide to road trip to Mexico, please refrain from bringing any flashy clothing or jewelry for your safety and make sure to always stay in a group of at least four people. If you are going to Canada then it is probably a little safer, but please do not be obnoxious Americans when you get there, most countries already hate American tourists. For the road trip itself, triple check that you have everything before you leave. Also again make sure to have a killer playlist to fill the hours when people are done talking or staring out the window for awhile.

No matter what type of road trip you go on, just go on one before you get too old or busy to do so. Do not stress about how gas might be or who is driving or when exactly you’ll get to your destination. Just sit back in your chair, stay off your phone unless its for music and/or directions, and enjoy the people around you. Oh! Don’t forget snacks, snacks are a must for almost all of these road trips.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
