Spring break. Those two sweet words everyone loves to hear. A break from the madness of schoolwork and a break from reality. A chance to relax and a chance to enjoy yourself. While I personally will be home during break, probably catching up on my shows and helping myself to seconds, or thirds of my mom's home-cooked meals, many of you will be venturing out to a nice warm destination. Here are a few tips that will help ensure you have the best and safest spring break vacay.
1. You are not invincible.
You know what this means. Yup, it's about the good 'ol friend named alcohol. Some people think that their tolerance goes up during this special occasion, but in all honesty, you still can't take more than four shots without vomiting all over the place. Make sure you watch your drinks, keep track and, most of all, stop when you know you've had enough. You don't want to spend your entire vacation being sick or even finding yourself in the hospital.
2. Wear sunscreen.
For all you pieces of paper out there -- I'm talking to you, pale folks, I plead with you to bring sunscreen. Yes, being fair skinned as hell, the sun can be our worst enemy. Throughout the year, I vary between two shades: super pasty and red like a lobster. Make sure you keep putting that sunscreen on. I reapply every 15 minutes and still burn. Yes, that is possible. For those of you that have nice tanning skin, you do you. But for those pale people out there, make sure you stay protected!
3. Beware of overpacking.
I like to call the act of overpacking a suitcase, "hoarding." Yes, hoarding in your suitcase, it has a nice ring to it. It is definitely important to pack everything you need for a trip, but leave out everything you don't need. Dear boys -- please, dear god, leave your Speedos at home. Even if you have a body like a Greek god, no one wants to see that. Overpacking is so annoying because the airport gets all weird if it's just a wee bit over the weight limit, and you're left with nothing but a $100 fee and wondering where you went wrong. Hey, if you end up forgetting to pack something quintessential, there's a great thing called a mall! It's really cool, actually; you buy things there.
4. Stay together.
We all have that one friend who always seems to disappear during parties. You don't know how or when they are going to disappear because, honestly, they are like ninjas. If you are going on vacation with a bunch of friends, make sure you are always with someone else, even when going to the bathroom (although, girls already do that). It's important to not get lost or lose each other because if that happens, bad bad things can occur. Keep an eye out for your pals.
Well, there ya' go! That was some useful advice you can take with you on your trip! Enjoy your spring break and have an amazing time!
