4 Resources Every UCF Student Needs To Use Before Graduation

UCF has plenty to offer for all students. Over the past four years, I have discovered many great resources that UCF offers to students, faculty and alumni. Our school does their ultimate best in providing our small little city everything a college student needs. As a student, it can be difficult to balance school, work, sleep and social time. Thankfully UCF offers some pretty incredible resources to help students along the way.

1. UCF Rec and Wellness Center

UCF is the home to a state of the art gym. The gym has two floors filled with plenty of equipment and exercise multi-purpose rooms. A student can go for a daily workout to lift weights, run around the track and test your endurance on the stairmaster. In the multipurpose rooms, you can take several exercise classes ranging from spin to kickboxing. There's even a rock climbing wall if you are feeling adventurous. There is also a personal training program where you can customize your own workout schedule. UCF offers a smaller gym in the Knights Plaza with many of the same opportunities.

2. Lake Claire

Want to escape from the hectic life of running to and from classes? On campus, there's a lake where you can rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. Students can relax on the lake and take in some of the lovely nature central Florida has to offer. Many students can be found on the outskirts of the lake playing beach volleyball or having a picnic with friends. There are even nature trails surrounding the lake where students can hike and explore the unseen parts of campus.

3. Knights Helping Knights Pantry

The Knights Helping Knights Pantry is the one and only food pantry accessible to all students at UCF. The pantry is an excellent resource for students, Every day, a student can visit the pantry and check out five food items and unlimited clothing, toiletries and miscellaneous items. The pantry has so much to offer. A student can find most items that they need all at no price. Students should not have to worry about not having important items such as food and the pantry is a great place to reduce these worries.

4. Career Services

Need help finding a job or internship? UCF Career Services is the place to go. Career Services staff provides students with counseling on how to find a job and mock interviews. They also offer an internship placement program along with resume building workshops. It's the best place for upcoming graduates to visit and even students who want a head start on job hunting. Career Services can also help students discover their passion along with what major is right for them.

Overall, UCF provides students with several resources to make the college experience a little less stressful. Of course, there are many other resources provided but these are some of the best. UCF stands for opportunity and the plethora of resources helps students to access opportunity.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
