If you are anything like me, you love lipstick. I own just about any color, shade, and finish you can think of. I’m an addict and I’m okay with that. Many people ask me what kind I am wearing or what brand I swear by. There are many brands that I have, but there are a few that stole my heart. These are the brands that I swear by because of quality and selection.

I urge you to give these 5 lipstick brands a try:

1. Kylie Cosmetics

Kylie has produced a cosmetics line that is not only famous because she’s a Jenner/Kardashian, but because she produces a high-quality product that doesn’t break the bank. A single matte lip or gloss is usually $17, just like any other brand name you find at Ulta or Sephora. What gets you, however, is shipping. Wait for the days she does special delivery.

Currently, it is free shipping for order $40 or over ($60 internationally) so if you are saving up to make multiple purchases this is something to take advantage of. Otherwise, sign up for her e-mailing list and wait for a special occasion that offers better shipping rates. (And if you are lucky enough to live or be in NYC this month, I hope you took advantage of the pop-up shop).

2. MAC Cosmetics

MAC is another brand famous for their lipsticks. The matte lipsticks from MAC are what started my unhealthy addiction to lipstick and really makeup in general. The quality is always great and the customer service at their stores is very good. You can also find some good deals on MAC products at Macy’s. I swear by MAC and believe any lipstick connoisseur should have their own selection of their products.

3. NYX

NYX is another great brand for lipstick and the most affordable in my stockpile. The NYX Lingerie line has to be my favorite of their lipsticks. It is a liquid matte similar to Kylie but at less than half the cost. For $6.99, you get a very good quality, long lasting matte color. This is an affordable way to get a good color and to make your more expensive lip colors last longer. They are also sold at most drugstores, Ulta, and many local stores.

4. Smashbox

Another great brand to try out is the Smashbox liquid matte. The lifespan on this liquid lip brand is worth every penny. An individual color costs $24, a little on the pricey side but definitely worth the investment. The bold statement colors Smashbox provides are ones you want to have in your makeup arsenal, in case of a special event or even a date where you want to impress. The guaranteed long-term wear will come in handy, also, for the girl on the go.

5. Urban Decay

Although all of the previously mentioned lip colors are personal favorites, Urban Decay’s Vice line is hands down my favorite. The color selection is unbelievable. The quality is fantastic. The wear is great and the price is not bad. A single lipstick is $17, like many other brand names. They also offer two Vice palettes with many of their best-selling colors and finishes (I have both the Blackmail and Junkie Vice palettes and they are my children).

Almost anytime I walk into Sephora or Ulta I walk out with another Vice color. I truly swear by Urban Decay’s Vice line and if you give them a try you will not be sorry.
