Some people think that women aren’t funny, so here is a list of four awesome women that are using humor to stand up for women everywhere.
Samantha Bee
Samantha Bee is a Canadian-American writer and comedian who has recently started hosting her own late-night comedy series called Full Frontal. Samantha was the longest serving correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. After Jon left the show, Samantha was offered her own show. No, she doesn’t constantly talk about women, she address all issues from a unique viewpoint of a woman. One of my favorite quote of hers was her response to Marco Rubio who stated that Hilary Clinton supported aborting babies on their due dates:
“That is literally the stupidest thing I have every heard. Removing the baby on the due date isn’t an abortion; it’s a cesarean... Keep telling your cabal of fetus fanatics that Hillary Clinton wants us to carry to term and then deliver our babies directly into a Vitamix, so Planned Parenthood can sell it to Whole Foods.” -Samantha Bee
Amy Schumer
We all known and love Amy. She is taking over the world, and looks damn good doing it. She is a role model to many young women, and is a trailblazer for comedy and feminism. She has received a lot of criticism for her strong stand on doing whatever she wants. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like she is going to change anytime soon.
"It's work having a vagina. Guys don't think that it's work, but it is. You think it shows up like that to the event? It doesn't. Every night it's like getting it ready for its first Quinceañera, believe me." -Amy Schumer
Stephanie Miller
Radio host of her own show, Stephanie Miller is a witty liberal comedian who doesn’t take shit from anyone. The Stephanie Miller Show is a three-hour discussion involving politics, currents events, and comedy. She has put up with a lot, including receiving several death threats from listeners. Stephanie has used her threats for comic material.
“If you’re offended by crass, tasteless, scatological humor, scrawled on a Chardonnay-soaked cocktail napkin, then bite me, you oversensitive prude. If not, step up to the bar, baby! You’ve got my number.” -Stephanie Miller
Nicole Byer
Best known for her hilarious advice on MTV’s Girl Code, Nicole is also a star on the new show The Pursuit of Sexiness, a show about two broke, single friends trying to survive.
"People don’t want to hear about your diet. Just shut up, eat your lettuce, and be sad." – Nicole Byer
