30 Thoughts All Babysitters Have Had On The Job
Stephanie Koeller

The life of a babysitter is filled with laughs, screams, stress, and happiness-- almost simultaneously. One minute you love your kids, and the next you're convinced your hair is going to turn gray. Not everyone has the patience that you do, and you often get asked: "How do you do that???" Well, the answer is simple: you love the kids. Here are some of the things that go through your head whenever you are with them

1. Awe, *insert name* is so cute!!

2. *Child poops, screams, or does something annoying* Me: LOL just kidding.

3. I don't know how these kids are always hungry.

4. I wish it was acceptable for me to have mac and cheese for lunch everyday.

5. I think I spend more time with children than adults.

6. What is *insert name* talking about?

7. Is it acceptable to nap when the kids nap?

8. To be honest I don't care if it is, I'm doing it anyways.

9. Why do kids like running so much?

10. It's amazing how something like bubbles makes kids so happy.

11. Awe, I remember when I had an imaginary friend!

12. Please stop touching *insert name.*

13. What are these kids doing?

14. What is the big deal with swings anyways?

15. Did I just get sassed by a 3 year old?

16. Yes, yes I did.

17. I think I have threatened time out 20 times today.

18. Why does no one pay attention to me when the tv is on?

19. Is it time go home yet?

20. I think these kids are trying to kill me.

21. I didn't know it was possible to scream that loud.

22. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if I'm these kids mom...

23. Why are kids fascinated with the dirt?

24. Remind me to never wear nice clothes to work again.

25. Awe *insert name* is cuddling with me, who needs a boyfriend anyways.

26. OK, *insert name* is officially cute again.

27. I wonder if *insert name* knows this drawing doesn't actually look like a bunny.

28. Either way, *insert name* is more artistic than me.

29. I live for my goodbye hugs.

30. OK, is it time for work again? I miss my kids.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
