3 Quotes To Ignite A Positive Mindset

Everyone seems to be on autopilot flying through life not paying much attention to important checkpoints. It seems as if everyone is racing toward the finish line blinded from what it really is that they are working toward. The ultimate goal of happiness is reached by so few, yet desired by so many. The only difference between those who survive the pursuit of happiness and those who don't is mindset. That in itself is progress toward that ultimate goal(s). Here are three quotes to ignite a spark in your life and help you on your way.

1. "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us."

Some may be startled by this quote, but it makes sense if you really think about it. We often make ourselves less than what we actually are. In order to feel comfortable with how things are, we just settle for mediocre. The purpose in this life is to make something of yourself with the notion that you can make a huge impact if you believe enough. If you truly express your authentic light in your everyday life, it only makes way for things to fall into place where it seemed all was once lost. We shouldn't be afraid of success. We should be afraid of staying comfortable.

2."Don't let your struggle become your identity."

Nowadays, when you ask someone how they are, it seems as if it's always a negative response. You often hear "I'm so tired," or, "I'm so stressed." It is rare to hear someone genuinely say they are doing great or speak optimistically despite all the stresses life throws our way. Instead of talking about the negative, take the time to be grateful for what it is you already have. There is always room for improvements and stress is inevitable, but that should not be the only focus. Carry your story with you and be proud of what you've overcome, but don't make it so that it is who you are. You are your dreams, experiences, passions, and much more, but you are not what you have struggled through.

3."There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs."

Through life, most of us are fortunate enough to have things given to us. Life, unfortunately for most, is what you make of it. Those who have created a life for themselves in which they are well off and happy have put in the work to get where they are. It takes a tremendous amount of blood, sweat and tears to make a truly fulfilling life. Happiness is not a given thing. It must be worked toward in order to manifest, and you cannot lose sight of that. Some, maybe even most, quit not even halfway through, because those people are not willing to lose sleep over success. Life is hard. Nobody said it was easy. It will never cease to kick you, pick you up and kick you to the ground again. Your only choice is to stay down there or get up and continue what you were going to do anyway.

In sum, you are more than what you give yourself out to be. Your situation is not permanent, and all these struggles are necessary for you to manifest your true destiny. You must embody what you want and what your striving for in order to reach the end goal. It's going to be hard, and you're going to want to quit, but it will be SO worth it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
