I usually pride myself on the fact that I can sleep at any point in time. Even if I have just woken up from a nap, I can fall right back asleep. I could sleep a solid 8 hours, and then go right back to sleep because I don't feel like getting up. But, sometimes even I encounter nights where I cannot fall asleep for the life of me. We’ve all been there and we’ve all had these thoughts.
1. Should I watch something on Netflix?
2. Should I eat something?
3. Does that whole warm milk thing help?
4. Maybe I should try counting sheep
5. *50 sheep counts later* Nope, this doesn’t actually work
6. Maybe I should watch something fun on YouTube?
7. Should I study?
8. Of course I’m not gonna study I’m "tired"
9. Did I lock the front door?
10. What would happen if someone broke in?
11. Stop thinking negative thoughts everything is going to be fine
12. Where do I wanna go on vacation?
13. I should come up with a budget plan
14. I should apply for internships
15. I really hope I don’t get sleep paralysis
16. My back hurts
17. It’s too hot in here
18. I’m never going to get a job
19. What do I even want as a career?
20. I want wings
21. Should I online shop?
22. Should I apply for another credit card?
23. Why did that internship not give me the position?
24. I want new makeup
25. OK I’m going to close my eyes and give up
Sometimes melatonin works for some, and for others it doesn't. For me personally, it works maybe about half the time. While it can be frustrating not being able to fall asleep, especially when you know you have a long day ahead, just remember that Netflix is always there for you. You can always nap and catch up on sleep the next day anyways.
