In today's world, the average cost to raise just one child is about $250,000. That is a lot of money. When I tell people that I would rather use that money on things such as travel and experiences, I get quite a lot of backlash. That being said, here is a list of things I would rather do with $250,000 than have a child.
1. Buy 125,000 Dr. Peppers
The average cost of a Dr. Pepper is around $2.
2. Skydive Dubai 125 times
For an unexperienced diver, a tandem jump is $2,000
3. Subscribe to Netflix for 31,250 months
I have to get through my list of TV shows to watch somehow.
4. Go to 2,976 St. Louis Cardinals Games
Come on, who wouldn't want to look at that 3,000 times?
5. Spend 1,250 days at Disney.
And never be bored.
6. Buy 7 brand new cars.
This is based on an average of $33,560.
7. Go to 8,333 shows in Branson.
With the amount of variety there is, I probably still wouldn't be able to see them all.
8. Ride the London Eye 4,545 times.
Just think of the great view you could see 4,545 times.
9. Get 38,461 burrito bowls from Chipotle.
I could eat that many in a day.
10. Fly on an airplane 491 times.
This is based on an average of $509 for a domestic flight.
11. Rent 250,000 Redbox movies.
That was easy math.
12. Buy 2,500 pairs of Nikes.
All black, of course.
13. Climb Mount Everest 7 times.
What was the tallest mountain before the measured Mount Everest?
Mount Everest. They just hadn't measured it yet.
14. Go to 2,525 Denver Broncos games.
Or 1,262 if I take my dad with me.
15. Go skydiving 1,000 times.
Do you think it gets less nerve-racking the more times you do it?
16. Take a trip around the word 10 times.
It would probably take me more than 800 days, though.
17. Go to the beach 430 times.
Maybe I could finally be tan.
18. Get 25,050 Ranchero Specials from El Acapulco.
If you haven't had one of these, you haven't lived.
19. Go to Six Flags 3,845 times.
I love rollercoasters.
20. Get 25,000 months worth of Ipsy bags.
You can never have too much makeup.
21. Go to Australia 108 times.
Um, dream come true.
22. Stay in a decent hotel 2,777 times.
Room service and not having to clean my own room? Yes, please!
23. Ride the XLine in Dubai 1,533 times.
The XLine is basically an epic zipline over Dubai.
24. Go to the Vienna State Opera House 4,166 times.
If you watched the most recent Mission Impossible, they visited this opera house.
25. Go to 30,750 movies.
Being a huge movie person, I'm excited about this one.
Obviously most of these will not be occuring as many times as mentioned above. However, I would much rather spend $250,000 on things like these than have a child. Let alone more than one.
