As Fall semester approaches, so does the stress of managing classes. It’s important to remember that there are many ways to relieve stress. Both your physical and mental health can contribute to stress. Here are ways to keep your mind and body stress-free this semester.

  1. Less soda, more water.
  2. Stretch every morning.
  3. Exercise your body for at least 20 minutes a day.
  4. Buy a planner, plan out your week on Sunday night.
  5. Get enough sleep.
  6. Prepare your meals for the week.
  7. Pack healthy snacks if you’re going to be out all day.
  8. Take 10 minutes before bed to reflect on your day.
  9. Find a NEW hobby, it will keep your mind busy on something your interested in.
  10. Spend time with friends.
  11. Participate in sober activities with friends. Swimming, running and bike rides are great activities to do with friends. It’s also a great workout.
  12. Wake up at least 1 hour before you have to be somewhere. Give yourself time to get ready. Rushing will lead to stress.
  13. Keep your room clean.
  14. Keep up with laundry.
  15. Take study breaks every so often instead of cramming.
  16. School work always comes first, so finish it first before going out.
  17. Make time to go out with friends once a week. You need a social life.
  18. Be okay with spending time by yourself.
  19. Plan a head, check the weather and traffic reports.
  20. Always be on time.
  21. Avoid toxic people.
  22. Surround yourself with positive people.
  23. Eat less junk food.
  24. Take advantage of athletic class at school. Yoga and cycling are great workouts plus it gets you out of your room or house.
