" Grey's Anatomy". The one show everyone cries about. I told myself I actually was not going to succumb into this hype of "Grey's". Instead, I would continue to watch "Gossip Girl"/"Gilmore Girls"/"90210". ANYTHING but "Grey's". But, alas, the six-week winter break called for an ultimate binge-worthy show. I came home from work and found myself bored. And there. There it happened.
I watched the ENTIRE show (up to the current show) in fifteen days. Yes, I know, it sounds impossible. But it's not. If you just choose to get three to four hours of sleep per night as well as consuming excessive amounts of caffeine.
It was totally worth it though.
I mean I got to experience life-changing surgeries by living vicariously through the doctors of Seattle Grace/Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. Watching one character die in season 5 from experiencing the tumultuous lives of the doctors is one heck of a road to experience as a binge-watcher on Netflix. Y'all, Cristina Yang is clutch. She's so strong-headed. She's intelligent. Her BFF is Meredith Grey. Who has a show named after her. Okay. Casual!!?? MGrey is also pretty fab. I mean she basically did an impromptu brain surgery when Derek said Avery was better than her. And might I add, she was pretty clutch, too.
Guys, "Grey's" is just so great. It won my heart the very first episode. Let's relive some of the times "Grey's" won our hearts until we get the new episode in just a few weeks!!! :)
1. That one time Meredith confessed to Derek all of her feels
Does this even require an explanation? One of my FAVORITE classic "Grey's" moments.
2. Izzie and Denny and their epic love and all the feels
Denny Duquette. Izzie Stevens. The two most underrated characters. One of the most underrated "Grey's" couples.
3. E L E V A T O R P R O P O S A L
Not gonna lie, I texted every single one of my friends who were also "Grey's" fans. DEREK SHEPHERD. WINS. LIFE. MERDER for the win, fam. Yes, I cried when this happened.
4. Post-it wedding
That time Meredith and Derek couldn't make it to the court to make their relationship official. That time when their love was (still is) so epic that they had a paper wedding. EPIC. LOVE.
6. Plane crash: Mark/Lexie
Mark and Lexie have had their fair share of ups and downs. Probably one of the most underrated couples. What a goodbye.
7. The shooting
THIS. THIS MOMENT. CRIED. TONS OF CRYING. That moment when Meredith saw Derek get shot and had to hold her screams...that was the moment I was personally victimized by Shonda Rhimes.
8. Burke leaving Cristina at the altar
Cristina Yang lost her eyebrows and her man in the span of 24 hours. Cristina Yang got left at the altar. Okay, I will admit I thought Cristina was gonna bail (and might I add, she was pretty close to bailing...) but instead Burke realized he was changing her. And bro, that's SO not cool.
9. Izzie and Alex get married
Okay, let's be real. We all hated Karev at first. The whole spur of the moment marriage was possibly one of the cutest moments....ever!!
10. McDreamy's last moments
Guys, let's be real, we all wanted to give up on Rhimes when this happened. We were supposed to see McDreamy with the fam bam on the ferry boat. We were so excited for the happy ending. But only, it turned out to be Derek's ending. By far, the SADDEST moment of "Grey's Anatomy". (Yes, it was hard to watch during this moment, but the events that occur following this due to this event won our hearts.)
11. Cristina's exit
Guys, I NEVER thought Yang would ACTUALLY take that job. I mean yeah, I get it, she's super career-oriented...but I mean...really???!!!! The persons said goodbye...pretty sad moment there fam.
12. April confesses her love for Jackson
That whole thing about life flashing in your eye... SO TRUE! April, I didn't think you had it in you...funny how things work out.
13. Mark gives his final lecture to Jackson
No words. I wasn't the biggest fan of Mark Sloan. But, let me tell you, the man. He's wise. Very wise. RIP Mark Sloan.
14. Jackson's confession at April's wedding
Okay, let's take a second. Obviously, Meredith/Derek are the best "Grey's" couple. BUT, now that Derek is no longer a part of the show, JAPRIL all the way!! Yes, I know, they're prolly breaking up. Let a girl live??!
15. Meredith drowns (and lives because of McDreamy!!!)
McDreamy to the rescue. Idk how many times I just wanted to cry because dang, they so cute. Ugh.
16. Izzie sees George in his military outfit
Izzie's battle with cancer was always one of those moments that made me feel like "Grey's" just wanted to hurt every single character. The fact that Rhimes even THOUGHT about this scene makes my heart ache. UGH "GREY'S" UGH WHY !!
17. Derek's voicemail
I'm sorry...you're probably crying right now...goodness I'm getting the feels. Derek Shepherd, you are the best fictional TV character. PTL for you. RIP/imy.
Okay friends, I need to go eat ice cream now...I'm pretty sad. I need to go be with my person.
