I have a very dear love for animals. I especially love cats and dogs. So when I see a stray cat or dog, I go through a very intense internal conflict.
So here's a quick transcript of my thought process.
1. Oh my gosh, is that a dog? IS THAT A DOG?
2. Where's that dog's owner?
3. He looks just like my dog.
4. Maybe they're brothers or something. That would be cool.
5. Alright I have to save this dog.
6. If I just stop and stare at it, maybe it won't run away.
7. Crap, he sees me staring.
8. Maybe if I just reach my hand out... Nope. He's not coming any closer.
9. I'll try and telepathically communicate with him.
10. "Dog, if you can hear me, I am your friend. Please, don't run away. I'm just trying to help you!"
11. Do I have any food on me I can bribe it with?
12. I should definitely start carrying dog treats in my purse for situations like this.
13. If I can get this dog to trust me, I'm definitely keeping it. No doubt about it.
14. Where will I keep it? My dorm doesn't allow pets...
15. I can totally keep it a secret. I've just got to avoid my RA for the rest of the year.
16. My roommate should be ok with adopting this dog. Right? Everyone loves dogs.
17. I'll have to go shopping for dog food and toys and a bed. This dog is doing to live a plush life.
17. What should I name him?
18. Is it a him? Maybe it's a girl.
19. Ok. If it's a girl I'll name her Olive. And if it's a boy I'll name him Oliver.
20. Well, that's adorable. This dog is definitely going to be my best friend now.
21. Oh, crap. It's gone.
