Between struggling with post grad life and medical issues, my anxiety is up the roof. It is truly hard finding yourself in today's world and being independent. The world is harsh and brutal. However, the world also has some pretty cool things in it, even small little things to help you feel a bit at ease. Here are 21 smalls things to help you feel a little bit better.

1.) Watch a FUNNY movie/TV show

Notice the emphasis on FUNNY. Laughing is proven to make you feel better.

2.) Go for a walk

Get those muscles moving and blast some music. Ignore the stress for a few minutes.

3.) Breathe

Inhale shorter than you exhale. For instance, inhale for 5 seconds, then double that time and exhale for 10 seconds. Makes you feel like you are breathing out the stress.

4.) Color

Let your inner creativity go.

5.) Listen to music

Put on your favorite tune and jam out.

6.) Take a nap

Your problems won't go away when you wake up, but you may feel more relaxed and refresh. Take about a 30 minute nap. I personally would not go over two hours unless you have a hangover or some sort.

7.) Talk to a friend/family member/good support system

Always good to let out your feelings and find someone to listen and understand.

8.) Bake

Betty Crocker has some easy baking products to make something yummy.

9.) Go to the gym

It is proven that working out releases stress.

10.) Have a drink

I am not saying have a whole bottle, but a glass of wine a few times a week may help. If you do not like alcohol, tea works well too. Even a warm glass of milk.

11.) Pet a dog

It is proven that dogs reduce stress.

12.) Take a vacation

You don't need to hop on a plane and go to Thailand (unless you want to). Plan a short weekend trip somewhere to take your mind off of things and gets you excited.

13.) Read a book

Get your mind engaged in something.

14.) Buy yourself something nice

Don't go on a $500 shopping spree. Buy something cute off of amazon if you think it will make you happy.

15.) Take a class

Does not have to be a school class. Take a comedy class or writing class or something that just sparks your interest. You may meet some new friends.

16.) Write

Let out your feelings and express.

17.) Dip your face in COLD water

Emphasis on cold. Putting your face in a bucket of cold water for 30 seconds will decrease emotions.

18.) Talk to a therapist

If you find it hard to cope with your feelings, consider seeking a therapist. They have some free therapists to speak to online as well I believe.

19.) Clean

Getting organized can help you feel some satisfaction.

20.) Pray (for those who are religious)

Reaching out to god can help some people feel at ease and feel a spiritual connection.

21.) Dance

Get some energy out to your favorite music.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
