Texas. The Lone Star State. The Best State in the U.S. Whatever you like to call it, is one big state. Being so large, there are so many things to do that a lot of us aren't even aware of or have just heard of in passing. But there are so many cool and unique things to do in Texas that every Texan should road trip to! No matter where you live in Texas, there are some road trip destinations on this list for you.

1. Palo Duro Canyon.

Hiking and exploration are only two of the many things you can do when visiting Canyon! Truly a natural wonder of Texas.

2. Barton Springs Pool.

Located in Austin, this serene setting makes for a great swimming spot!

3. Enchanted Rock State Natural Area.

A Fredericksburg beauty that holds adventure and natural wonder!

4. Six Floor Museum/The Holocaust Museum.

Both museums in dowtown Dallas pose as series tourist attractions. Located near each other, they make for a double dose of knowledge of local and international historical periods. They are each are chock full of information that leave you with new found knowledge.

5. The Alamo.

Everyone knows the Alamo. One of the richest parts of Texan history that every true Texan needs to experience. San Antonio has much offer and The Alamo should be at the top of your list!

6. Natural Bridge Caverns.

San Antonio, Texas.

7. Jacob's Well/The Hillcountry.

Jacob's Well is an attraction because of its obvious beauty, but located in Wimberely, near the Hillcountry, gives you so much more opportunity for adventure.

8. Schlitterbahn.

Any location will give you a fun-packed waterpark day or couple of days!

9. USS Lexington.

Located in Corpus Christi, this is the perfect place for any history buff!

10. Dolan Falls.

Located in Comstock along the Devils River!

11. Big Bend National Park.

12. Menil Collection.

The Menil Collection is actually an art display of a family's private art collection! For all the art lovers or those looking for culture, this unique art display in Houston is one of a kind!

13. Hamilton Pool.

This place is just absolutely beautiful and doesn't even seem to be a part of this world! Located west of Austin, this hideaway is a must see!

14. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.

Glen Rose.

15. Gruene, Texas.

There is so much history in this little Texas town that everyone needs to experience. The Guadalupe river runs through this town with a great view from the Gristmill restaurant. There are endless amounts of things to do that everyone needs on their list!

16. Tubing at the Guadalupe River.

This is a fun activity that you can do from any place that offers it along the Guadalupe!

17. Star Party at McDonald's Observatory.

How awesome does this look? A chance to look at the Texas night sky from the Fort Davis area sounds beautiful!

18. Mount Cristo Rey.

El Paso.

19. Graffiti Park.

This Austin spot attracts tourists and locals alike! It's a unique spot to visit, plus there is plenty more to do in ATX!

20. Balmorhea State Park.

This place offers so much more than it seems like scuba diving! Located in Reeves County, Balmorhea is a fun for everyone!
